The End Cap Buddy Program

This did not go as expected, I appreciate everyone's opinion, they all matter to me, but this has just gotten out of hand.

What I expected to see was posts and posts of fellow fans listing their wants, and a few posts here and there somewhere along the lines of "hey (i.n.h.) I got your back, pm me" or something to that extent.

Anyway, thanks to all for the input and opinions expressed in this thread and the other one.

 

All I ask is that you guys just let this thread die.

Nah, it's not over persay, we all as individuals can continue the Buddy Program, but this thread kinda got shot to hell with the bickering/one-ups-manship going back and forth (wich I participated in myself :redface)

I think that doing the whole end cap buddy thing in one thread is going to be messy. Too many people will be posting. I think it would be better if everyone made their own thread and at the beginning or end of your post you can say that you're part of the ECBP.

It's a one stop thread which IMO is nice and I can't think of a single reason why it should die.

 

To all interested just feel free to post as Plowman said and wait paitently for people to notice. Also feel free to update want lists and such so people don't get confused with what is still needed and what is not.

I think this buddy system has a lot of merit and would help plenty of collectors. Anyone willing to Starscream about not making any extra money on it is just a scalper not getting their way.

 

I've traded and sold plenty of times at cost with no markup (other than PayPal fees because they Transufomah! you and you shouldn't have to lose money to please another person.)

a real easy way to do this would be to set up a second thread where each Buddy has one post, that can be edited whenever they need.

 

So if there's 10 buddies, there'd be ten posts, and the Buddies would check the thread to see who's looking for what (he'd only have those 10 posts to go through), and go from there.

 

So my Maximo Prime post would say:

 

As of 7-12-06, I'm looking for Alt Prime, and Alt Mirage.  I live in Philly.

 

And that's it... no one posts anything at all but what they're looking for.  They could also include (in the same post) what they see a lot of.  that, however, might get redundant, but who cares, it's all in one post.

 

So the post might look like:

As of 7-12-06, I'm looking for Alt Prime, and Alt Mirage.  There's lots of CD Red alerts here, and also lots of C-Metroplexes.  I live in Philly.

Not the discussion place for such a thing-- that's what the first post was for!

 

Either two things need to happen:

 

1) Mods, would you be able to delete every non-this-threads-intention post of people Starscreaming so that we can get back to trying this thing out

 

or

 

2) Lock this thread and make a new *stickied* one where people are only posting their wishlists and not what the think about the topic.

 

That would be great.

 

Look Rosey et all-- posting for two pages about how this isn't going to work is a real ass-sack way to make it not work. Just let it run it's course and see. If you don't want it to work because of some personal investment, I don't know what to say. But otherwise, there's really no reason not to just shut the hell up and let everything happen.
