G1 Dinobots

I got this Dinobot (Slag?) the one with the long neck.  Anyway he's total plastic, no metal at all.  He does say Takara 1980 1984 and some other forgen things on the under side.  Is this a variant or something?

I don't think my Dinobots have metal.  They were just more durible plastic then those Energon "dinobots"

Dinobots are metal free. My vintage Grimlock is the same way... except for maybe the screws holding him together..

Long neck would be "Sludge"

"Slag" was the Tricerotops.

 

I think of the toys - Sludge was my fave.

I know the G2 dinos were non-metal but I have a Snarl that has a chunk of metal (the red part) so I thought the rest were like that.

What are you talking about?  G2 dinos have metal Snarl and Slag (when I get home I'll check on Grimlock).

 

G1 Slag has metal (again I'll check on Grimlock and Sludge)

Still have my childhood grimlock eventhough it is scraped and I was not metal.  Bought the dinos on ebay and all are very light and have no metal.

Little trivia for you:  I think it takes excessive force, but when you do it, Sludge gains a neck swivel for robot mode!

maybe this metal/non-metal is like hotspot and his chest plate?  All my dinos have metal.
