Galaxy Force Canceled in Japan?

More than likely Takara is going to restructure the line. No more short-lived mini-lines like the PVCs or WST or RMs or the Chibis or the bottle caps or the... etc.  They'd be FAAAAAR better off if they just concentrated on what Hasbro is doing here and import our stuff. The two times that TFs did REALLY well in Japan were when they did just that: G1 and BW. Tomy is coming into this from the outside and probably sees that easier that Takara can.

Alt is getting a huge push here next year, so expect BinalTech to continue there. Even if they are forced to lower the prices by dropping the die-cast metal, the toys' R&D is all done. No sense not to sell them.

Worst case, they don't have a "main line" the way we envision it.

Best case scenario, they use their recently purchased animation studio to do a short BinalTech/Alt cartoon, for joint US-JPN release, aimed at the only people that seem to care about the line: adult collectors & teens.

Seibertron's old rumor page may have reported a few too many rumors, but the new rumor page along with their reporting, galleries and everything else is top notch, the staff there really deserves alot of credit for such a great site :clap

Besides the nature of rumors is that they're somewhat sleazy anyway, just look at what happened with that "Primus at SDCC" rumor. People were running around cliaming the suprise was ruined and somebody got fired for it. Come announcement day it was just Cybertron Galvatron and Alt Sunstreaker and said people either admitted the Primus stuff was all assumption or they just didn't say anything else on the subject

Doctors note: The above stated rumor should be taken with the largest grain of salt you can possibly find.

It's typical of Takara to wind down the last of the series around this time. Same thing happened with SL ... the only releases last year after this time where store exclusives, such as the SL Buildtrons box set, as far as the main line goes. That is, if I remember correctly.

Realistically, how much can be left? The only thing that hasn't been shown at this point are the giant planet guys, and it's entirely possible that those will wind up as store exclusives, just like the Buildtron set.

Supreme's do not sell well in Japan. I believe Fan2Fan has already confirmed that the giant planet guys (Megalo, Blender and Moledive) are the last to be released, and it stands to reason to think Hasbro may release a US edition of Primus a little earlier for the Japanese market.

GF is coming to the end of it's days as a toy line, that's all. What happens next is the new mainline, but we can expect to see Cybertron hang around a bit longer as we've already seen Hasbro padding out the line with exclusives. It seems likely that there simply won't be many repaints in GF, that's all. Which is, when you think about it, what we've been asking for all along.

Therefore, GF has been 'cancelled'... in exactly the same way SL was. Expect Transformers: 2006 just in time for Christmas!

Exactly, and with Cybertron getting lots of exclusives it will be nice to see how good hasbro can be on its own. I really liked hardtop.

:eek  :tfsad Bad indeed. That can mean a lot of things. bad things. But maybe there's hope. It is not the first time Hasbro produced toys without Takara taking the iniciative. Beast Wars is one example and as far as I know, by the time Armada came out Takara was not interested in anything TF (they were disapointed by Car Robot's sales).

Still I wonder how things will work out in japan now. Will fans have to order everything import now?

it also might have something to do with the new owners maybe? As long as we here in the US will still be seeing Transformers.
