Energon Snow Cat Review

Behold, Galvatron!

Recommended Posts

Just picked up this guy along with Rodimus this morning (saw Prowl, but passed on him).....this'll be pretty brief

Vehicle Mode:

Based of the design of the GI Joe vecihle, Snowcat looks pretty sharp and holds togther well. Excellent details throughout such as a moveable winsheild wiper, a frosting effect on the windshield. The colors mix very well and the vehicle holds togther pretty well. 8/10

Vehicle Hyper Mode:

Move the skis so they rest below the treads and move the cannons so they are on top of the vecihle and VOLIA! Hyper Mode! It looks nice, but since the cannons were moved uo the robot head is now visable. 6/10

Robot Mode:

Transformation is akin to Inferno save for rotating the lower half. Snowcat has plenty of articluation and easily puts the Wave 2 Autobots to shame in terms of that. He bends at the knees and elbows, has swivel joints, head can rotate, legs are on ball joints, etc.

One thing many fans feared was Snow Cat would have a large gut a la Energon Prime ( leading some to call Snow Cat "Snow Fat") This is not the case as while the belly does protrude some, it is nowhere near as bad as Prime or Inferno. 9/10

Robot Mode Hyper Power:

Flip the skis on both sides of the legs down and move the cannons up so they are on each side of the head pointing forward.

This looks pretty good and makes Snow Cat look pretty fearsome with those cannons. The skis are abit long but thats hardly a complaint. An excellent Hyper Mode that doesn't hinder the articulation in any way. 9/10

Overall:

Snow Cat is a very worthwhile purchase and is on par with Starscream. Yes I know that may be hard to believe but with easy gimmicks, great articulation and a nice nod to GI Joe in vehicle mode, he's one of the standouts of Wave 2. 9/10
