Extremely Overpriced G1 Megatron tv cel!

IMO as a cel collector of many years, I've many outstanding TF cels being sold, traded and offered, but this seller is a complete idiot and a greedy nut!  :redface  :tdown

Yeah yeah it's a rare G1 tv cel of Megs... but most tv cels rarely reach that price. Most of the time THAT price 1k+ is what the movie cels go for.  :stfu  :inhpoo  :finger  :finger  :slap

So what would a fair price for such a cel be, in your opinion?  I ask because if cost isn't prohibitive, I'd like to have one cel each of Prime and Megs... I'm curious what that would end up costing me, or rather how inexpensively I could possibly attain them...

WHOA!!!! $999?! he could maybe get $200 at most, though it is megs and all, 999 is way way way to high of a price. But then again, ask whatever you want, you might get it :|

TF tv cels depending on the character can range between $300 to $700. But rarely if ever, does a TV cel even of G1 Megs ever reach 1K. G1 Optimus Prime cels centered with little traceline fading and paint chipping can range $400 to $700.

 

The condition of the cel is paramount but the sketch(es) and background matter too. If the pencil sketch is unstuck and/or the original matching background is included, it can command a much higher price. However, rarely will you see a MATCHING background from G1 for the more popular characters like Prime, Megs, Shocky, Screamer, Soundy etc. If you do, those cels w/backgrounds usually are not for sale, at best for trade ups only. Meaning you have to already have a TF G1 cel either from the movie or the tv series to trade.

 

Generally collecting cels from 80s and even 90s anime series is expensive, many companies destroyed them. And hardcore collectors have since stripped the remains off of the nearly inexistent supply.
