WOOT! *pumps fist*

Just won a new Encore Optimus Prime on eBay, $36! My old original G1 OP can now rest, as the new guy will take up the cause to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons.

I've recently installed 6 new tires and some new chrome on my original Prime, such as the bumper/grill and stacks, but his leg chrome and fuel tanks are still heavily worn, not to mention his decals, paint, and plastic. The trailer's a little rough, too, some bad magic marker detailing from 20+ years ago looking like not such a good idea now. This new one is going to be AWESOME! He will remain utterly unmolested.

I remember playing with that Prime all the time back then, altho I can't actually remember when I got him. I'll remember this one, tho. Yay online commerce!

Cancelled my order at HTS today cause I found pegs filled with Samurai Prowl and Waspinator today.

Got 2 Prowls, and was gonna pass on the bug but had a store credit so...

Haven't changed Prowl yet. Waspinator, I like, but a moving jaw, more possable wings and any feature in the tail would be nice. Over all though I like it, and if a good sale comes along I may get a couple more as it has an "army builder" feel to it and a Bug Brigade can be fun.

Definetly needs a weapon, and reading his second "Galatic Ability" cracked me up.

Just got around to Prowl, was very suprized that the add on armor is a single piece save for the wheel. I'm actualy very impressed by that and wish it had a third placement type mode.

Looking at him though I can't help but wonder why they didn't make the stars detachable this time around?

First transformers haul in ages.

Marvel Crossover Ironman: I waited for the black 'Warmachine' repaint to get this guy. I always like that color scheme better and I thought it would look good with Venom and Black Spider-man. Overall I thought the mold was decent, admittedly better then it looks in pictures. Still a bit miffed about the lack of poseablility in the arms. You can move them, yeah, but not in the right positions. Any attempt results in something terribly awkward looking.

Thor: I was half-and-half about this guy at first. His robot mode looks great but that vehicle mode is terrible. Besides the fact that model of plane has been severely overused in transformers as of late, it doesn't have any detail. The paint job makes it look like a preschool toy. But that robot mode is slick. The 'cape' is awesome, much better then the old Tie-fighter Vader transformer. My only complaint about the robot mode is the hammer. It's too small and he doesn't hold it firmly. Otherwise transformation mechanics are great.

Animated Ultra Magnus: Original Magnus molds are one in a million. The titanium figure, which was G1 accurate, also stunk. It was just way to small to make a respectable Magnus. I was looking forward to this guy when I saw his design sketches way back when. He's one of the few (or rather the only one) animated figures that can 'blend' into the mainline toys. He's just proportionate enough to pull it off. What's more, he's armed to the teeth. The only points I'd take off would be for the overused vehicle mode. I don't think Ultra Magnus has to be a semi or anything, but another blasted APC? Between all the CD Hotshot repaints and Onslaught, I'm quickly getting tired of this vehicle. As least the design of it has been tweaked enough to make it look different, unlight Onslaught.

The cancellation of the animated line only worries me because there were some new figures I was looking forward to. I thought the Alpha Trion and even Wreck Gar figures would be a nice addition, and I still haven't tracked down an Animated Shockwave in any of my local stores. I may have to buy him online. Took me this long to snag an Ultra Magnus. I might grab Safeguard, too. I hope the new movie line is better then what little I've seen so far, otherwise I may not be buying many transformers during the next year.

    • Crankcase is hilarious. It's so awful and awesome at the same time. The entire front of the vehicle comes off, turns sideways, has a little piece flip around and becomes a gun. Ever since we first seen pictures of him I was wondering what they were doing with the front of his vehicle/chest. I never would've expected that though. It sure is a different design choice that's for sure. I can't wait for the upgrade kit to give him his shoulder cannons. I wonder how those will be implemented. I hope at least better than SS86 Jazz's shoulder cannon. Dead End is what it is still. Nothing to really talk about. I still don't like how Hasbro makes the lower legs longer than the upper legs for Transformers constantly though. Many of their designs would work better with longer upper legs like Dead End. Pointblank looks good. I understand the hate some have but I don't have that same hate. I just hate the Targetmaster still. We just had better ones that they're still using. Did it really cost that much to add one in at this point? Sure it's double the parts count and isn't gangmolded but still, it's not like Pointblank himself is all that complicated to begin with and the Battlemasters have long since made their money back with using those molds. They could've moved him into a wave with reissues or slight retools to eat some of the cost for that wave too instead of having it a wave with major retools and new molds entirely. Again, I can't wait to see the upgrade kit to give him that engine block spoiler gun thing to finish off the center rear of the vehicle mode. Hopefully they'll remember to put a 5mm port in the middle of it for a Targetmaster. Yeah Peacemaker already fills that spot but we all know that someone is going to make that piece to fit there. Skullgrin looks good but I don't like it as Skullgrin. I still think the original Generations Skullgrin is better overall. I do like all the weapons on this new one though. I'm just a little confused about what the vehicle mode is really supposed to be. It has treads in the back but nothing in the front. Is it a tank? Is it a half-track? Is it a hover tank? What is it? That head is awesome though and beats the older head by quite a bit. Transmetal II Megatron. Transmetal II Megatron. Wow. I just hope that the dragon neck/upper chest area is mistransformed. Or that something can be done. That was very much a bad choice if that's indeed all it can be. I can't wait to have to tighten up all those ball joints to get everything just like I want. Cryotek is the obvious redeco but I want one more other than him. I seen a digibash of him as RiD 2001 Megatron/Gigatron and while it looks good, I don't want that. I'd much rather have this redone as Beast Wars II Galvatron. It's not like the drill tank was all that much better than TMII Megatron's dragster so it's easy to leave out. Once you take out the drill tank, the dragons don't look too dissimilar to each other at that point. Yeah Galvatron didn't have a dragon arm but I'll take what I can get when it comes to a new toy for him.
