Animated Lugnut.

For once I actually bought the opposite from what I actually wanted.

Too many times when I buy the toy I really really want I end up being disappointed.

I feared the same with Grimlock.

Luckilly I wasn't disappointed at all with Lugnut.

A bit small but a really solid, fun, well executed toy with one of the best plane alt modes of any Decepticon in recent years.

Be careful with Grimlock, loose joints are a plague on him. He is a respectable size, but things like the hole in his dino mode and nonmoving robot jaw make me just feel they didn't go the distance with this figure.

The transformation is near dead on to the origional. With alittle more effort it could be one of the best homage's in TF history, but without them, he sadly falls to the fate of the "Masterpiece" Megatron in your sig(mines fine but thats only because I refuse to touch it. a nice figure, but far from a Masterpiece to me), and winds up being a fail.

I'd wait for a sale or a clean second hand Grimlock.

I know what your saying though about disapointment. Even with all the warnings, I still bought Universe Galvatron. I expected his left arm to keep jumping off, but that seems to be the only piece to stay on. As GALVATRON, yep, pure fail, as GALVADRONE he has some merit. Merit enough to make me want to look into a couple more so I can have a small assault team run by actual Galvatron.

It's nice when something craptacular can still be made to work.

Thanks for the advanced warnings.

A lot of those issues seem to also plague Black Arachnia, especially the hole in the chest. The grappler was unfortunately the first thing to bust. Forgivable for deluxe I guess.

I know for fact I'm skipping Galvatron (Got a Titanium Megatron vibe from him, another figure I skipped) I think Tankor and Sunstreaker should be pretty good though.

Tankor, Sunstreaker, and Prowl are great. Not only do they look terrific, they also have alot of play value. Especialy with Tankor, there are alot of different ways to position the parts beyond what the directions state to personalize him without going into a bash.

The figures are light though, and you do have to watch for paint issues on Prowl. I recomend keep one packaged so you don't feel bad over inevitable battle damage.

Galvatron though, he makes an awesome drone, kinda like Cybertron Unicron, but he's far to ambitious for his size. I know he was ment to be bigger, but instead of just scaling down the design, they should have retooled the transformation to fit the scale.

Don't get me wrong, as fodder he works. As a display piece he looks good. However as far a Decepticon Leader goes, he's just far to fagile. So Galvadrone it is.

PS, Animated BA...

From knee to kneck, a great figure, even the head sculpt is great. Very redeaming to the Tarantulus redeco. My problems with her though are simply the plastic is too soft. Rubber legs just wont stand especialy when designed just plain wrong. The head topples to easy unless the weapon is stored which flat out kills the astetic of the figure.

This generaly adds to my oppinion of Animated, it seems like they consistantly wanted to do something great, but at every turn gave up half way through. With the time between product and show preview, than show premier and figure release, that there would be plenty of time for QC, R&D and all that....

Instead 90% of the Animated figures I bought came crumbling out of the box. When compaired to 10+ year old Beast Wars figures who are still holding their own, and awesome new figures like Crossover Venom, and Spider-Man, I just don't see any reason for these half ass figuges.

No excuse, I have rows of show acurate figures that are no where near as poorly designed. So here it is Has/Tak, if you wanna be cheap, I'll just keep my money. If you want those dollars though, I say make toys that hold together, and keep in mind that a "MASTERPIECE" toy needs to look, handle, and play well. One out of 3 just don't cut it.
