Why is Aaron Archer so evil?

Maybe Jack can answer this for me: is there as much animosity and bickering on some of the other boards as I've heard, mostly due to the Orson incident? I hate to dig more worms outta the can, but I'm curious.

Seriously this is an old and dead subject. I don't think anyone is walking around upset about it anymore. If they are - good grief! get some help. Otherwise I don't hear about it at all. There isn't any bickering going on, not that I know of. Anyone who says otherwise is as usual way less informed than they pretend to be.

I don't know Aaron to make judgements about him more than my impressions of his statements both in convention interviews and as 'Orson' on various message boards. That said, I'm not fond of him, but hold no real antiapathy to him - he's a corporate schill, end of story.

I didn't like, for instance, how he takes credit for everything 'cool' about transformers. (He had nothing to do with Alternators, for instance, despite his insisistance that her personally designed them all.)

I didn't like how he blames someone else for anything 'not cool' about Transformers. "The Universe repaints were by Bob the Janitor.. he, uh, just signed my name to it."

I don't like how he likes to 'bone' the fans from time to time, because something leaks (usually by him or one of his staffers) and then he feels the need to 'change' it just to bone around.

But, like I said, he's a corporate schill, and overall I guess he's doing a good enough job as one.

If the Orson incident was as ugly as I heard, I'm sorta glad I wasn't involved back then...

The 'Orson Incident' had a lot less to do with Archer himself and a lot to do with management of a couple of boards being complete pricks with one-another.

Hasbro posted a big loss this quarter... they said it was mostly due to video games continuing to cut into toy sales. If my son is any indication of the general kid population, I'd say they're on to something.

A quote I heard some kids saying in Target the other day, looking at Transformers: Energon figures.

"This one's pretty cool." (looking at Stormjet)

"Yeah. Didn't they have a show with these guys?"

"Not this one. That was when I was in kindergarten."

"Too bad, it would make a cool show."

(Kids go off to look at other toys.)

It's called 'Marketing', Hasbro, you should look into it.

Marketing, for Energon? It's been pisspoor. They haven't pushed the damned things like they should. I've BARELY seen any commercials for it, and the most recent (and likely last) one I saw was pushing E-Superion and...E-PRIME. A WAVE 1 FIGURE WITH A FINAL WAVE FIGURE. Talk about a retarded release date gap there. The only marketing they have for Energon, really, is the cartoon, and since it's a sucktastic show that's on at six thirty in the freakin' AM...

:pfx I have never seen a comercial for Energon other than on the internet and I never saw the show until CN streamed a few on their website. Back when BW was around I don't remember any comercails, but it always seemed like the show was on (Two channels had it in my area and it was on 6 days a week).

About Hasbro losing $$$ to video games - what ever happened to Hasbro Interactive?

*personal cries of lost contracts*

Too many buyouts, not enough product to pay for the buyouts, sold off to Infogrames, which is now renamed Atari.

That help?
