i recall reading in hasbro's press release that the whole point of the new series (cybertron), was to collect all the ignition keys so planet cybertron could transform into its true robot form and stop the blackhole created by unicron. correct me if im wrong though.

 

anyway any thoughts as to how a possible mold would look of cybertron, and it would be a kickass complement to the unicron mold

HOPEFULLY they'll make a new Unicron mold (or an old one, I should say) in the form of the unreleased BW Neo Unicron, and then retool that into Cybertron/Primus. It would make a perfect mold for Primus, actually - it's an actual sphere vs. just a hemisphere. It would also be nice because A: We'd get something that some of us (me) have been wanting for years, B: they wouldn't be HUGE and could probably retail for $40, and C: they would both be in scale with one another, and would make a perfect pair. Good vs. Evil. That's what I think, anyhow.

According to Hydro Custom of the allspark, there IS a Primus figure due out in the Super pricepoint ($50, same as Starscream)

 

I'd bet on a new mold, and if they follow some of trends I've seen, he will be designed after Don Figurea's (forgive if I misspelled) Primus seen in WWI and the ultimate guide.

Unicron is a sphere, not just a hemisphere. He has a very small flat base which allows him to stand, but he is a full sphere.

 

I think we'll probably be getting a retooled BW Unicron, since that is the design WW Primus was based on.

I wouldn't bet on it being a "Unicron mold" again. Atleast, not if Hasbro holds it's promise from OTFCC '04. I remember them saying that we wouldn't see that mold again any time soon.

That's right, WW Primus was based on the BW Unicron mold! I had sort of forgotten about that. Well, hopefully that clenches it.

Same with the BWNEO Unicron (which DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A MOLD! It was just a resin prototype, the step before molds are made).

 

Whatever Primus end up being, it WILL BE A NEW MOLD!
