The Daily Prime returns to 1988 for the Return Of Optimus Prime, sort of. in the Marvel Transformers #40 comic, his body was destroyed, but the Autobot Leader lived on thanks to a floppy disk back-up of his Core Consciousness that was saved by Ethan Zachary. This was the second Marvel Transformers comic that I got as a kid from the comic book rack in a Walden Books store (the first was #33). I was totally shocked at how different the comic was from the cartoon and I went on to collect the rest of the series.
