I think that it is important that it feels good in your hands. Don't ask me to explain. Either you know what I mean or you don't. Some TF's just look and feel awesome.

I think the transformation is important, that it is easy. I hate really difficult transformations.

A TF has to look good, above all else, in both modes, because no matter how often you play with them, you still have to look at them, either on the shelf or in your hands.

:wtf I agree totally with everything said above. I really have to give SOME of the producers thanks for taking my visions of a perfect toy and after spending lots of hours working on it sell me everything my little heart (and pocketbook) could ask for. As for those OTHER producers who sell repainted crap as new or toys even homeless children would throw away at Christmas and cry....well...they can go kiss Megatron.

I look for both an awesome alt. mode and robot mode. A good TF needs to have both. There were plenty of Armada toys I took a pass on because they looked lame in one or both modes. The other big thing is posability because I don't play with them (when people are looking) so I want them to look nice on my shelf. A nice, complex transfomation is a plus, but not required.

Something that has always been important to me it the charecter behind the toy. Yeah, a bright red robot that can turn into a Mack truck is cool and all, but after watching him lead his troops to victory is what made him great. So, I guess the ability to recoginize a figure is really important.
