That one is pretty good.  But I've seen a scratch build one that was dead on to the cartoon version.  Can't find pics though.

the one I think you are refering to was at a botcon years ago, and was sold for a few hundred. It had a custom box G2 style and was almost 100% cartoon accurate.

yes, thats the one. I thought it was made by an individual and entered into a contest during the convention though. I guess not.

Not that this isn't top quality craftmanship, but why would you want a cartoon accurate Skyfire? The only reason he's Skyfire and not Jetfire is because rights to have Jetfire in the American cartoon were never acquired. They had to come up with some completely un-Robotechish looking thing that cross-eyed people would accept as representing the Jetfire toy.

you know, come to thionk of it, Skyfire's transform is probably EASIER to build than jetfire's.

To each their own buddy. I have to say that that SKYFIRE is fantastic as well as the BOTCON exclusive but in my mind nothing can touch JETFIRE! Name as well as astetics were just simply awesome. I miss that toy and would love to find one again. SKYFIRE though is great on his own accord. I love what that Kitbasher did with him. He definately has talent. :thumb
