Public Service Message: Gold Plastic Syndrome

Recommended Posts

The original, Beast Wars Transmetal Megatron suffers from a condition known as GPS, or Gold Plastic Syndrome.  In the 1990s and early 2000s, certain color combinations in plastic did not hold up well over time.  Pretty much a thing of the past in modern toys, this classic toy after 20 years of storage broke into pieces when being converted to bot mode.  Megatron is now glued together at his arms and waist in alt-mode, destined to sit on a shelf or in a box for the rest of its days.

If you think that your classic Transformers action figure may have GPS, do not convert it.  Begin with a search online to learn more information about the affected action figures and any related toy lines.  Now that you know, you can transform your world.
