button batteries dont explode, as I recall,

but I usually remove them so I dont get surprised (e-mirage likes to raise his guns on his own and make that stoopid noise)

if a tf has aa or aaa batteries, they get yanked, or in the case or RID prime, never installed

the reason i remove the batteries most of the time is because the sounds annoy me, (apart from armada scavenger who kept me awake most of a night dur to a malfunction that meant the sounds would activate even with no movement)

put batteries in e megatron but took them straight out again when i found what they activated.

I usually put batteries in when a figure goes on display and remove them for storage. (I love bopping E Jetfire on the head everytime I go past him to enjoy that classic transformation sound he makes.)

However, I've noticed that newer batteries don't seem to have the leakage problem that older ones from the 70s/80s did. I found I had stored a toy spaceship from the mid-90s in a (hot in the summertime) garage for about five years without removing the batteries, no leakage. And these were the el-cheapo batteries that came with it, not a top brand.

I don't really like Transformers with electronics. I just don't see a point in them, except for my G2 Laser Prime. That one was pretty cool, but as soon as I put batteries in my Energon Omega Supreme, I took them out. I found the whole gimmick kinda sad.
