Age of Extinction has done pretty well for Michael Bay, both here and especially in China. The Wrap reports that Paramount Pictures has decided to extend their first-refusal contract with Bay and his Platinum Dune production company, and even extend it to his other production company, Bay Films. This doesn't guarantee that he'll be the one to direct the next Transformers film, but it sure makes it seem more likely. Keep reading for all the details! Read the Full News Story Here

More high dollar :poop for the foreseeable future. :awsum Just what I wanted...

Perhaps one day, generations beyond ours might know of a decent live-action adaptation of the Transformers universe from someone besides Mr. Personality. Something of substance well beyond over-produced SFX to hide the fact that we're in the Roland Emmerich (Godzilla)/Joel Schumacher (Batman) era of so-called 'filmmaking' for this particular franchise. So unfortunately, but, hey, it pays the bills, right? :doh

I'd love to see what this film would pull in under a non-summer release...but that'll never happen.
