Toy Review - Transformers Generations Deluxe Skids

Recommended Posts

Skids has had more than a little bit of an image facelift since he was adopted in to the main cast of More Than Meets The Eye. Before this, his most notable trait could either be considered as having fought and defeated Ravage in Marvel G1 before disappearing in to limbo for a few years according to the UK continuity, or just largely vanishing without a word in the US issues. Plus his utter unimportance in the cartoon, it's no surprise that the old days of the online fandom made a joke of his functional non-existence. Read the full review! Read the Full News Story Here

What "mod" or correction did you do to the hips? I have this figure and I didn't notice the hips being on backwards.

On some of the Skids figures the upper legs are not on correctly which stops you from moving the legs forward. A simple fix and once done he's amazing!!

I really love my Skids figure and wonder why this reviewer only gave him two stars. Just too crytical IMO I'd give Skids four to five stars because what he does, he does right! I haven't been able to put him down since I got him! :)

I think 4 out of 10 stars is a little harsh, I would give him a 6 or 7. The blue color doesn't really bother me. The wrist cannons were neat, but I think they are way more distracting than the shoulder cannons. My biggest gripe with the figure would have to be his shoulders as he has very minimal articulation there, which i know was also a big negative from the reviewer. This figure totally reminded me of the TFP Frenzy(RIRFIB...can I get a :woot XD) as well. I also agree with him that this figure seems to be one they would do back in 2008 or so because he is so much larger than Hoist, TrailBREAKER, Orion Pax...etc. :tfevil

It dipped down to 2 star since it acts more like a statue than a workable action figure. The arms hurt it a lot, but if the balance and leg design had been better where it would be able to effectively assume more self-stable poses I could have lived with the arms.

A statue?? He's got 14 points of articulation and hidden weapons plus all that playability!! Right now he's my favorite of the bunch because he brings so much in the way of extras that he becomes an amazing figure! I think you're being too harsh on this guy.

BTW, I thought your scale was out of five so if the scale is to ten I'd give Skids a high 9 or 8.5 if you had to do a harsh rating.

The number of articulation points only matters as far as how they're useful to posing the toy, and that is really limited for Skids because of some of the design traits.

Only thing off I think may be the lack of proper heels but you can compensate for that and the arms somewhat but then for them you'd have to work with the nature of the toy IMO. He's pretty imaginative!
