After the longest time and a forgotten log on (probably deleted log ago) I figured I'd re-register so hello all again been a few years hope you're all well?

So straight to the point...fans toys quakewave

I bought one, and it got me thinking on a few things

1) I heard a while back that HasTak were probably looking to legal action against 3rd party vendors for copyright infringements - does anybody know anything?

2) in view of point 1 has fans toys opened themselves up for attack with quakewave?

The reasons I ask are these...if I've got my history right....shock wave the toy is owned by toyco subsidiary of bandai? character as per g1 is owned by whome? Now not being a legal person I would argue that quakewave is an original mold therefore would get out of any legal arguments...but bearing in mind that somebody owns the comic book likeness there could be an argument to be held there.

The reason I bought it? Because of the above and the likelihood that IF a successful legal battle resulted in quakewave being removed from sale officially we would never again see the like of such quality or ideas. Plus the price of getting one would become silly more than now.

Your thoughts and answers please?

Oo to anybody who has a quakewave...did you get a metallic pink spare set of hand and gun hand? I did and was wondering if this was normal?

As far as I understand it, Bandai still owns rights to Shockwave and several G1 characters. I'm not fully up to date but I don't know what legal action they can take. That would be like Hasbro suing Yamato for making the 1/48 and 1/60 veritechs.

From what I remember from the whole thing, Hasbro threatened and never moved forward on it. As for Takara and Japan, with garage kits and 3rd party items being around for years I dont think they are are as concerned by it. But I think Hasbro was just trying to scare them into submission which didnt seem to work to well.

But that is just my opinion I could be wrong.
