Which beasts will make the cut?

Recommended Posts

With the advent of new TF:PRIME 'Beast Hunters' toys showing up on the shelves, was just wondering if anyone had heard anything about which of these new characters (besides the obvious, Predaking) would actually make the cut in the Season 3 show? Laserback? Ripclaw? Twinstrike? Show or non-show figures...which one is it? Thanks in advance to anyone with answers.

Ripclaw maybe, gonna have to finish reading Rage of the Dinobots to find out if she survives, Twinstrike definately not since the toy was only made to homage G1 Sinnertwin (much like Ultra Magnus, Kup, and Frenzy, all characters that will not get the spotlight put on them)

Well given the nature of the storyline they will probably feature most if not all of the characters, but they will be one episode wonders, like 90% of the "new characters" from the other seasons. Ending with them either dieing or being captured.

I do think ripclaw and preds will be reoccurring characters though. Mostly because of Ripclaws involvement in Rage of the Dinobots.

Thanks for the info, guys. Been outta the loop for a little while, so as I'm seeing these new figures hit the shelves, just trying to assess what they are and how (or if) they fit into the storyline.

Preds is the given, of course. So, Ripclaw might make it for a bit too, huh? Interesting. Nothing about Laserback, though? I figured since he was the first deluxe 'beast' released, he'd make the cartoon cut...or not? :shrug

I have noticed IDW tends to focus on characters that won't get much (if any) screentime with their comic adaptations and expansions, Ripclaw may show up in a few eps, however she could also be unceremoniously squashed by Sludge's bit butt in the comic, it's too soon to tell. Laserback will probably be one of those characters that's all muscle and no lines, and basically end up as Bulkhead's season 3 punching bag.

    • Agreed. Let's leave that word in the historical dustbin please.   But I also disagree with the basic argument here ie that this is a stupid controversy. I DO think the current 14 issue is likely a case of an innocent coincidence, but the initial MAGA issue was not. It was an objectively political statement that has no place on a toy. Additionally, there's an extra problem with either being on Jazz; a character whose voice was originated by one of the few black performers to voice a Transformer, and also the first. 14 may have had an innocent origin in this case, but in light of both the previous not-innocent MAGA issue, this being Jazz, AND the fact that the fandom was bound to wonder why a number on a well-loved character was changed (see the endless speculation regarding ER Smokescreen), the result is a very bad look that could have and frankly should have been anticipated by the design team.
