Jagex have released some new images of their Transformers Universe MOBA style game.Yes, it is no longer an MMO game and its pretty unclear how they are going to pull of the Universe part of the game in a MOBA style game when everyone is in it for themselves. There are many comments from fans on facebook and the Jagex forums indicating that people have given up on this game. What are your thoughts on the change from MMO to MOBA? Leave a comment on this after you check out the images below. Read the Full News Story Here

Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), also known as action real-time strategy (ARTS), is a sub-genre of the real-time strategy (RTS) genre[citation needed], in which often two teams of players compete with each other in discrete games, with each player controlling a single character through an RTS-style interface. It differs from traditional RTS games in that there is no unit construction and players control just one character. In this sense, it is a fusion of action games and real-time strategy games. The genre emphasizes cooperative team-play; players select and control one "hero", a powerful unit with various abilities and advantages to form a team's overall strategy. The objective is to destroy the opponents' main structure with the assistance of periodically spawned computer-controlled units that march towards the enemy's main structure via paths referred to as "lanes".

A massively multiplayer online game (also called MMO and MMOG) is a multiplayer video game which is capable of supporting hundreds or thousands of players simultaneously. By necessity, they are played on the Internet. Many games have at least one persistent world, however others just have large numbers of players competing at once in one form or another without any lasting effect to the world at all. These games can be played on any platform it, be it the personal computer, a game console such as the internet capable PSP, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, PS Vita or Wii, or mobile devices and smartphones based on such operating systems as Android, iOS and Windows Phone.

Wow, how badly did they screw up the game for it to go from an MMORPG to something similar to the online mode of Fall of Cybertron? I'm no fan of shooters so my interest in this went from around a 7 to a 0. It would be like taking Street Fighter and downgrading it from a fighting game to a game where you destroy cars. Taking an MMORPG and stripping it of everything but it's PvP component is just insane. Hasbro made a huge mistake letting Jagex handle this.

Yeah, I was admittedly somewhat excited about this when it was first announced... then more and more info started coming out, what killed it for me was not being able to craft characters that looked like they could have popped out of literally anywhere in TF Fiction, G1, Bay, Animated, Prime, would have been nice to have those options...
