I've been waiting on a set of these toys for a long while because of all the promise held in them. But with the promise comes a great deal of ambition, because these toys have to do a lot of things to fulfill their goals. While their quality on an individual level is of course an important consideration, the criteria which they're really going to be measured by is how they stack up as a multi-part super robot. Check a Toys R Us. Right after I posted this I found reports of the Combaticon assortment popping up in TRU in Tennessee and Massachusetts. I think it was Massachusetts. I dunno, one of those New Englandy states nobody can honestly tell apart. But they are out there.

Thank you sir!....i'm going to the Twin Cities this Saturday to hunt these guys down.

Oh one other question. I really like how you "folded up" Blast Off to make him look like a more proportional arm. But my question is...does this hinder any articulation as Bruticus's arm at all?

In the package depicted arm mode, Blast off would have a midpoint swivel, and an inward elbow. The way I did it, you lose that swivel, but the elbow can still move inward. You're losing very little from a functional perspective as either way the arm would have to be held straight out front to, say, point the gun forward. The worst side effect I'd say is Blast Off's head being out in the open, which is why the shoulders are arranged up as they are - helps keep it out of direct view when looking from front or behind.

Talk about being pissed. I went into TRU tonight and they had an unopened case of Wave 2 on the upper shelf. So I got someone to open it and I got the Bruticus Figures. So I headed up to check-out to put them on layaway and wouldn't you know it I forgot my damn Debit Card. So needless to say some lucky person is gonna be able to snatch them up since they'll go on the pegs and lord knows how long until I see them again due to the TRU's being so slow on getting new items.skeletor.png

  • 3 weeks later...

In looking for the Deluxe GDO figures I stumbled across this entire set, so of course I picked him up. I actually wasn't going to buy him, but I said if by some strange luck I find them all and I get a good look at them I will buy them....now looking at the fact that all of them can be interchangeable as limbs I am very pleased I bought them. Thanks for your plethora of pictures....nice review! I have to say I like these colors a lot better than the G2 version.....oh and I found all 4 of the deluxe GDO figures as well....yay I finally have a Wheelie figure in my collection!
