The Transformers Masterpiece Optimus Prime will cost $99.99 when the figure arrives exclusively at Toys R Us, according to jru42287. The Toys R Us employee dug up this information in the retailer's computer system and dug up the UPC (0 653569 77631 4) and SKN (863856) numbers for the figure that is based on Takara Tomy's MP-10 Convoy Version 2. Unfortunately, the information available within the product entry does not include an availability date, similar to Hasbro staying mum on the release at San Diego Comic Con 2012. That would help... but I wonder if distribution would be like Hot Rod, where it was shortpacked for about 2 months before showing up in force. This would be even a tougher pull I bet.

I feel that this being Optimus Prime, a very recognizable character, that he'll be stocked well. That's what I'm hoping at least. I plan on getting him ASAP.
