I believe the previous Devy, as horrible a toy as he is, actually sold somewhat well.

And I don't want to think MP Devy is a pipe dream at all if it's true that someone stated they want to make one someday

Honestly Atmo, I have never heard anything come out of Takara about wanting to make an MP Devastator or any MP Combiner. If they did decide to, then he at least 8 years away

I actually think the Make toys giant is a reasonably priced MP Devestator that only cost around $300+. This is what the Takara MP TF Devestator price would cost if it got created. the toy in combined mode stands around 10 inches tall & is composed of 6 deluxes,so it's not a bad toy by any means. all 3 modes look like decent sculpted homages to the 1985 constructicons/devestator.

I don't like TFC hercules. the individual robot modes look nothing like the 1985 constructicons. the toys are too over sized. the $600 price tag is too high. the combined mode looks like less than devestator than MT Giant.

Why do you think they were sold individually? So it could be afforded? TFC Toys did it right with Hercules by selling the robots individually, And if you look at each and every member of the Hercules team and Hercules himself, you would see he is an upgraded version of Devastator and when you do make larger versions of past toys they rarely if ever look like the original. and you can actually get Hercules for less than $600. The one I'm going to get is $515

IMHO Below:

The make toys giants toys were sold as two packs & the up comming green giant 6 pack gift set.

I don't think takara nor hasbro would ever sell mp combiners as gift sets or individual packs. because it'll still be too exspensive.

It makes more sense to create new mold TF combiners for the cheaper priced TF toy lines like the movie-verse,TFP,Generations,etc...

Hence the reason we got the turd known as ROTF Devastator....

Don't forget the Energon combiners, it took Fansproject to make them awesome, without the upgrades they are just utter crap, and another reason why Hasbro can not be counted on to make decent combiners

I'll agree that the ROTF ultimate sized Devestator was pure awful.

I actually think the ROTF Walmart/TRU Legends devestator combiner was pure awesome. as it has individual robot modes. I liked the size of this because the original 1985 constructicons toys were not basic size they were legends size.

I love all the energon 5-in-1 combiners. I think they were well done. beyond decent scramble city homages. proper size scale in relation to the 1980's scramble city toys.

It's a shame fan project's never created two basic sized jet/bots for the ROTF Superion combiner.

As for the energon/classics 5-in-1 devestator. my wish list was for fan projects to create three basic sized limbs. one could be used as a target master or a back pack or a extra man just in case a fellow team member gets damaged or is MIA for a while.

Yeah the Energon combiners are all over and done with, don't expect anything to come out for Constructicon Maximus, that thing is simply beyond help, ROTF Devastator turned me off from ever wanted to see combiners in a movie ever again, horrible design from start to finish, even the legends class combining Devastator couldn't offer any improvement. The only other combiners that are more in the scale you want are the PCC commanders with the TFC Iron Army kits, and TFC did say more were on the way, so cars, and Helicopters, and probably motorcycles and more modernized planes may show up soon, those should do the Scramble City combiners justice in a scale closer to the G1 toys. In the meantime we are also getting a completely mis-proportioned Cybertron mode Bruticus from Hasbro so yay?

The legends devastators were even worse, all they were, were smaller versions of the supreme version

If it weren't for the Fansproject upgrades I would not have bought the Movie repaints of Superion and Bruticus, they were hardly decent scramble city homages. Believe it or not SP not everything is a homage and these were definitely not homages

I believe that it is only a matter of time before a MP Devastator is produced. Whether Takara is giving the entirety of G1 Seasons 1 through 3 the treatment or not, Devastator is an iconic Transformers character, and certainly the most iconic combiner and is almost guaranteed to receive The Treatment. Even with all these third party Devs out there now, only Takara can produce the real thing and have the freedom to make it as close to its G1 likeness as possible.

Given the choice between the two, I'd wait for a MP Constructicon set before shelling out for a third party set. It'd be different if we were talking about the Seacons or the Protectobots or the Terrorcons. Those sets were sort of obscure by anyone's standards. But Devastator is too iconic to not get The Treatment. It WILL happen. The only question is scaling and if they would be released individually (most likely, and certainly the most affordable means for most consumers) or in a giftset.

As for the MP figures we will be getting towards years' end: I am ecstatic. I really am hoping that Takara will give at least the cast of G1:S1 the MP Treatment. Even with all the awesome TF toys and awesome lines out now, there is nothing like seeing G1 characters based off their G1 likenesses with all the articulation that their G1 toys lacked.
