I used to be a stickler for scale, but these days I have a different take on it than I have yet to see represented in these forums. I incorporate the fiction of the bots preference themselves. For instance, if Bumblebee wanted to scan a jet for an alt mode instead of a car, due to his total mass he would inherently make for a smaller jet. He could've easily wound up as an F-17 the size of a car if his tastes were different. Does that make sense?

Oh well, regardless, these look amazing. They definitely have my attention. I can't wait to see all 5, preferably in production colors.

Makes sense to me

Maybe its the alt mode that determines their size? It is possible. So you going to go after Superion?

If its the alt mode, then what would stop everyone from scanning cities and air craft carriers to become hulking bots??? (obviously it didn't work for Broadside. He stayed the same size as everyone else in bot mode in all the fiction I've seen him in) This theory would be fun though. I'd scan a galaxy and be the biggest robot ever. Everyone and everyone would live on me!

It's not that. I think it's pretty ambiguous as far as G1 goes. I like Animated in that you were "born" with a body type and your personality filled in the gaps.

And Broadside is awesome! Isn't there an image somewhere of Broadside crushing Devastator in Aircraft Carrier mode? All the guy has to do is fly over someone, transform to carrier mode and just squish everyone and everything he lands on. Properly scaled gestalts couldn't even withstand the mass of an Aircraft Carrier. They essentially are floating cities.

I like the Galaxy idea though Puma. Really Gurren Laganning it there :P The robots got bigger and bigger until they were the size of galaxies. It was awesum!

I can't wait to see color test shot's and pricing on these guys!

Speaking of Gurren Lagann, I can't wait for TFPrime Rumble to come out so I can make that custom Gurren Lagann Headmaster, lol

Agreed on all counts! That was one of a laundry list of things Animated got right.

And I can't imagine an anime good enough to knock Gurren Lagann out of my top 2.

"Don't believe in yourself! Believe in the me that believes in you!" Classic! :P

If only...on BOTH!

Seriously, though, I might consider figures around $30, $40, maybe even $50 a piece. I'll even pay over $100 for a vintage piece. But $600 ($100/ea) to build an awesome@$ 'Hercules'? I love it like the next, but that crosses the line from hardcore into CrazyLand! Two questions come to mind: What kind of job do you have? And do you have a family, house, bills, car, etc.? If you can still do it with all of the above...more power to YOU! :thumb

Military

Family 3 kids and a wife

plenty of bills

and I can still afford Transformers like Hercules

Auto parts

Family 17 month old son

Child support and bills bills bills

And I can afford Transformers like Hercules

CNC Machinist

Single and living at home

small few expenses

Could maybe afford $600 TFs, but would be a lot of money in the hole. I only make $400 a week, so he'd cost a whole paycheck and THEN some! I could afford, but JUSTIFY the cost? hell naw!

I want big combiners...

...At Hasbro prices

When you wake up from that dream, let me know.

That's exactly what's wrong with this hobby now. To want something legit is now unrealistic thinking and seen as a "dream" by the fandom. Don't you think that's a problem? I said HASBRO prices after all. Meaning Hasbro could charge what they thought was right, and would likely cost less than $200

That is the problem isn't it? Hasbro actually doing it, which they wont. Which is also sad

I hate to rank anime series because some I like so much it's hard for me to say I love one more then the other. However Gurren Lagann is way up there. Probably in the way of this:

Gurren Lagann

Hajime no Ippo

Death Note

Avatar: The Last Airbender

Honorable Mention: Naruto

That list would expand exponentially if you included movies. Mostly Akira, Karas and Miyazaki stuff.

Another note, at the Tokyo Toy Show this year a Takara rep did state that they "were looking into adding combiner's into the MP series" and that "it would be a fun thing to do" so don't completely rule Hasbro out just yet, if they do make it into the Masterpiece line, then it would not be prudent of Hasbro to dismiss a US release.

Never heard of those except Desert Punk (which I've always wanted to see). And the only reason FLCL isn't on my list is because its too short. It's a great show that just happens to only have like 5 episodes. :/

I'll wait to see what Takara comes up with first, then decide if I want the Takara version or chance wait for Hasbro version. Though I'm still waiting for COMPUTRON!!!

If I had the time resources I would create a 3rd party to make him.

Yeah, me too. I was too young to watch the G1 series when it aired on tv, but my dad did make a vhs tape for me and my sisters which had Transformers the movie, about half of season 1 and the two part Return of Optimus Prime, so Computron was actually the first Autobot combiner I was introduced to, so he holds a special place in my heart. I really wish TFC and Maketoys would stop faking us out with design sketches and blurry prototypes! Superion I am really fond of, but at the moment he's got an adequate space filler in the Energon Superion Maximus with upgrade kit, don't get me wrong, I love this, I am excited about it, and I did want a new Superion, it's just too soon for him IMO.
