No doubut the thrid party makers out that have added a lot of dimension to the Transformers collectibles sphere. Filling in gaps where no toys had been before and adding new designs that realize figures beyond imagination. It seems on fitting that these guys should venture into other water with things like those bio cards we used to know and love. Hasbro has pretty much given up on them, but here third party group G3 Studio are working on a set of Transformers Prime cards that you can see after the jump. Read the Full News Story Here

I sure hope they got the license from Hasbro to produce these, given that they're using the official logos and everything. I know Fleer used to have the trading card license back during the UT days.

They don't need a license to produce these. G3 Studios is based out of China, and China could careless if Hasbro complains

They can still be hit by cease and desist orders, and lawsuits under international copyright and trademark infringement laws, and face other criminal penalties. It's one thing to base a design off of a character and make an extremely limited run homage toy without using the actual trademarks and such, but it's another thing altogether to use all of the official trademarked names, logos, and designs without license for a mass produced product. Thus, they had better have the license to produce these or they'll be in some real hot water.

China would still have to give a damn Tramp, and it is known that China could careless about international copyright. Where do you think the majority of Bootlegs are made? Or the majority of 3rd Party? In China

Plus no one is going to go after a small group of people just for Hasbro's sake. All Hasbro can do is file a complaint with the US Government and keep them out of America. So BBTS, TF Source, and Toy Arena wont be able to sell them.

Nothing is going to happen to 3G Studios, because they are based in China. They will not be in any hot water.

Just like how they ripped their name from a company called G3 Studio that is based out of Budapest.

Now because of the fact that the vast majority of Hasbro's product is made cheaply in China, Hasbro will actually be forced to look the other way. As Hasbro does not even do Bio Cards so it will not hit their wallet in any way. Also considering that the information is already on the back of the Cards and boxes. G3 Studio is just making the information easier to carry. And quite honestly the only company that should have a problem with these Bio Cards is Takara not Hasbro. Since Takara still does Bio Cards, and HASBRO HAS NEVER DONE BIO CARDS. Every time you buy a Takara Transformer they come with a Bio Card. When was the last time you bought a Hasbro Transformer that came with a bio Card?

The last time Hasbro had bio cards in the retail package was during the Unicron Trilogy run. The Armada and Energon figures had them in the packages. Fun Publications still uses bio cards for their Timelines figures. Also, as for the name 3G Studios being similar to G3 Studio, the names are different enough, and the latter may not have registered their company name internationally anyway. Regardless, we don't know for certain that this company didn't buy the license to make cards anyway. I'm simply saying I hope that they did because these are nice cards and hope they are legitimate products endorsed by HasTak like the Fleer cards were.
