Confrontations over a toy

Children are vicious, terrible, utterly reprehensible things, and at the very least are never to be trusted. Especially this latest batch of whiny, spoiled, self entitled miscreants.

I blame the parents for raising their kids in fairy tale reality and do everything for the child. I still think its funny that the only channel I have parental block on for it MTV. Definitely do not want my kids watching that crap, it only makes its it worse

I've never been confronted or otherwise, but I have been tailed through the store by security and I'm guessing some dolt once who was hoping I would put down what I had in my hand so they could grab it. Then again, when you have cobalt blue hair, tats and just look plain inhospitable, people leave you alone.

I have never seen it with TF figures. I have seen it with SW figures. But I have definitely seen it with Hot Wheels figures. Guys that bust through the door before the manager can even secure the door, beeline right for the Hot Wheels pegs, then slapfight over who gets to cherry pick first. Stupid.

Damn!

Hot Wheels huh? I mean, I guess I shouldn't judge, but...

Damn!

Since toy forums are filled with accounts of the negative aspect of Hot Wheels collecting, I think it's a fair judgement.

Children are to the world right now what Uwe Boll is to movies.

Children are The Evil. Self-absorbed, sinister, nihilistic, self-absorbed, self-destructive, arrogant, whiny, ungrateful, unrepentent, impertinent, materialistic, illiterate, lazy, delusional, paranoid sacks of snot whose main function in life seem to repeat the word "MINE!" over and over and over again and raise the stress level of overworked, innocent or at least semi-innocent adults, whose main concern is the fairly benign goal of furthering the species.

Adults should be allowed to carry a switch/wooden spoon/extension cord or just a plain old belt on their hip (if not around their waist!) to deal with the little monsters as they deserve: with extreme prejudice and a liberal amount of BELT.

@Lord Onslaught: 4 years ago, I would have agreed with you 100%. Now, from the inside looking out, I can say for me that a parent can raise a kid, but the f***ing neighborhood will ruin the child. It's like they filter past everything you try to teach them, and absorb and act out all the stuff you taught them NOT to do, falling deeper and deeper into this nihilistic world. It sounds like the world the band Tool described on their Undertow and Aenima records. Very distrurbing, dark and depressing. I'd hate to be a kid in this age, with the archetypes--all self-absorbed, hyper-sexual and completely superficial--they have to look up to.

I've told off mothers at TRU but that's it. Its usually the "why did you bring your kid to TRU and refuse to buy them any toys and ignore the fact they are screaming constantly?" type of thing. I've only done that twice, but I think the other time was at KB if that tells you how long ago it was.

I've got 3 kids myself and none of them act like the spoiled little brats on MTV, or the ones where they yell at their parents until they get their way. My kids know when I say no, that it means no.

Trying to get there, man! Certain things, he knows not to push with (like don't play with my food; don't kick me in the crotch; don't transform a toy I specifically told you not to transform and do your damn homework), but part of it is me knowing my own boundaries as well as dealing with the way my dad raised me. More of it than I am comfortable speaking about has followed me into adulthood, and most of it is not good.

The funny thing with me is I was raised to be respectful and to help others, while at the same time I learned the importance of hard work. So if you wanted something you worked for it. I was also raised to not start a fight but I better be the one left standing. Which has gotten me in trouble at times but also gotten me out of trouble by being able to claim self defense. LOL

It also helped that I was raised with a military mindset also. Which is probably why I'm more comfortable around other military people then I am around people who have never served. I also do not put up with BS, just one more thing to deal with that is not necessary. I just like the fact that I can take my kids to the store and not have to worry about them making a scene when I do not buy them anything. I usually will tell then Next time or do you see me buying Transformers? No?

Today my freind and I were talking, and this subject came up when we were talking about the popularity over the starting lineup figures and he tolde a little story.

This goes back to 2007. My freind and his brother went to a Target to buy some stuff and he went to look at the Transformers section, and this was when the 2007 movie toyline was on the shelves. So he picked up the 74 Camaro BB figure and thought it was cool looking so he was going to purchase it.

So as he was holding BB he noticed a guy staring at him so he decided to go to another area, as he did he noticed the guy following him. So as he was walking through the store the guy kept following him. So he made his way over to the bedding section to look at the sheets and saw that the guy was still following him, so he turned to him and said can I help you? And this guy asked my freind if he was going to buy BB.

So my freind told him to go away and leave him be, so he went into the next isle and was still watching him, and was still following my freind. So he called the manager over and told him what was going on, so the manager walked over to the guy and told him that he was disturbing the customer, and that if he diddn't stop he would be asked to leave.

So my freind(whose name is Dave) watched in pleasure as the guy started to get rowdy and had the big burly security guard escort him out of the store. After all that happened Dave put BB back, thinking it just wasn't worth almost starting a fight over a Transformer toy.

The stories not over yet

So Dave met up with his brother after he bought his stuff and they left. When they got out of the store there was the guy waiting for Dave, he got in his face and started yelling at him because Dave got him kicked out. Now one thing you should know about Dave(and his brother Eddie) is that getting in the face of one of them is a bad idea, but getting in the face of one when the other is nearby is considered suicide. And long story short, the guy backed off.

Thankfully, I have never had any confrontations like that. Has anybody else on here had this happen to them?

It's definately not worth getting into a fight over a toy.

I finally found you!Been waiting for someone who was there to tell this story.Yeah thats right I have no life!

You bastard!

So his name was Dave!

I never got a BB thanks to you 2!

lmfao
