Confrontations over a toy

These a-hats are emotionally unstable. Now me, being a Hobbesian/Augustinian/Machiavellian, expect this to be in human nature, but jeez, at least most people try to hide the inner savage in societies such as ours. But NOOOOOOO. The savages have to be obsessive fan boys or scalpers who seem to have no sense of civility whatsoever. Lord_Onslaught, if i were manager, I would still have called the cops for assault and given you a high five for giving the jackwad what he deserved. He probably wanted to but there was probably a lawyer in the store ready to jump on a chance for a law suit. I think lawyers are the only reason mamngers can't be more protective of their stores.

I do have a story though that shows the better side of human nature unrelated to TFs. My dad took me to Target when I was ten looking for the Y-Wing from the Star Wars POTF2 line. We got in the store walking down the main racetrack and we see this Filipino guy walking up with the Y-Wing under his arm. I was pointing it our to my dad telling him that it appears that they have it. I ran up to the guy and asked where he found it and if they had any more. He said they didn't but he just handed it to me and said I could have his. It still is displayed on my top shelf to this day. and I never forgot that guy's kindness. If I knew who he was, I would try and return the favor. I never saw him again, but I owe him a debt of kindness.

Not over a toy, but over toy fandom. Long story short, there was a guy - we didn't get along online, he got banned from our community. He tries cyberstalking me, but I try to block/ignore him as much as possible. Then he starts stalking me in real life. At one fan meet he approached the table where my friends and I were sitting, so I yelled at him to go away and leave me alone. He yells back. I yell for security. They escorted him out of the shopping centre. A few weeks later I take him to Community Justice Centre mediation (it's an alternative to taking someone to Court) and we have an agreement signed up where we're supposed to leave each other the hell alone (suits me just fine). I never seek him out, but he occasionally tries to communicate with me under false guises... but as soon as I find out it's him, either he gets banned again, or I block/ignore him. I have no interest in interacting with this guy in any way, shape or form, and I wish he'd just leave me alone.

I guess some people are too self-centred/spoiled/arrogant/conceited to take no for an answer. (-_-)

I've had my fair share of internet TF fans stalkers. all those issues you mentioned seem to be the generic way TF stalkers harass fellow TF fans all over the internet.

In the long run, these TF stalkers probably live horrible lives & are jealous of others. some clearly have mental problems or are on some type of drugs/alchol. in the long run these guys probably end up in mental houses or serve time in jail.

I have never seen it with TF figures. I have seen it with SW figures. But I have definitely seen it with Hot Wheels figures. Guys that bust through the door before the manager can even secure the door, beeline right for the Hot Wheels pegs, then slapfight over who gets to cherry pick first. Stupid.

Damn!

Hot Wheels huh? I mean, I guess I shouldn't judge, but...

Damn!

That would be entertaining to see, 2 people fighting over a 99 cent car. LOL The SW fans usually come out around 7 am. So I am in and out of the stores before they show up. Though I do miss seeing the Trekkies walking around in their Star Fleet Uniforms looking at the latest releases for Star Strek.

On the flip side, I recount two separate incidents (at a Wal-Mart and a Target) when a kid has straight up tried to snatch a toy away from me. An arrogant cur tried to take HFTD Terradive right out of my hands at Wal-Mart after a long search that culminated in me finally finding the toy hidden behind a bunch of Bakugan stock. About 2 weeks before that, some punk-ass kid tried to up and take HFTD/ROTF LC Starscream out of my shopping basket at Target. I wound up having to angle and snatch the whole basket away to avoid a confrontation with the punks parents--assuming they were in the store.

You can't go taking stuff out of somebody's basket. You can't go trying to take something out of someone's f***ing hands. I draw the line there. Anything else, I'd defer to the kid on (almost) any other circumstance. For instance: if I'm out for a day in town, just happen to wander into Target and find that special Prime toy I've been looking for at the same time a child sees it and wants it...I'll defer to the kid. I didn't gas up my car and make a special trip into town specifically looking for that toy. However: if I had gassed up my car and made a special trip into town to find, say, HA Soundwave, and found 1 hidden somewhere and a kid sees it and wants it...well, that kid would either have to be a family friend or the (well-mannered and unspoiled) friend of a family friend or he'd better be able to get me the inside track to winning the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes or he'd have to have embarassing and debasing photos of me or his mother would have to be there and his mother would then have to be Michelle Trachtenberg, because--under any other set of circumstances--he/she would not be getting that toy from me.
