FansProject Returns with Reveal of Warbot WB-002 Steel Core

After a long silence, FansProject has returned to the custom scene with a reveal of their work: Warbot WB-002 Steel Core. The figure is the second entry in their line of the Warbot line that was kicked off with WB-001 Defender way back in March 2010. A teaser was posted on Facebook and a full illustration reveal of the figure was revealed on their FansProject Core website. The Core site does state that they are attempting to bring out some exclusives to the Core members. There is not a release date or price point, but until then, enjoy the images. It looks like a Cassette or a Powermaster engine. Probably will be small. I wonder what it is supposed to be?

You can tell if you look at him, the back of that "shield mode" looks like it extends into some kind of squared peg. Then on the drawing you can see a square whole in the big bot's chest and an outline of the shield mode around it.

 

He turns into chest armor or a "Power Core".

 

Looks freakin' awesome just not sure who this is supposed to represent. Maybe a new character? What the hell happened to Broadside?

It looks like that powermaster/whatever tiny robot that is a part of the WW2 Heartmaster Grimlock 3rd party toy we saw pics of last year.

Hmmm, I applaud someone finally taking on the powermasters, but what the hell does this go to? Seems odd that FP would put anything to do with Heartmaster in the WB series, I thought the Heartmasters would have their own HM series.

Addmittedly, still disappointed it's not Broadside, the rest of the triplechangers need some love desperately.
