Should some of the BLAME come off Hasbro/Takara & on the Economy? Regarding the new TF toys.

Perhaps the downward spiral economy plays a much bigger role is hasbro's TF brand decision making than anyone realizes it does.

Food for thought, voice your opinion on this thread subject matter. If you agree or disagree please offer up some decent examples to garner decent discussion on this matter.

Hasbro put too many of it's card on the movie franchise and let promising series such as Animated go to waste. Hopefully Prime will not suffer the same fate.

Until the Hub tanks and they have to come crawling back to Cartoon Network.

Personally,I actually think Hasbro's Hub network idea. was the best idea Hasbro had in years.

Before the Hub network Hasbro had to go around begging & shopping around for Networks to air the Newer TF cartoon series. Only for those Networks like Cartoon network to place the newer TF cartoon series in the worse time slot possible.

It's a given that any network hasbro choses to air the newer TF cartoon series. these networks will give hasbro a hard time by giving them a detailed list of restrictions & ideas of what their network viewers prefer. recent example of this points to TF 2007/2008 Animated. Hasbro bent over backwards trying to please the cartoon network with tailoring a "TF animated " cartoon with suggestions & ideas the Cartoon network crew had. the result was a teen titans styled animated cartoon that had a lot of singular episodes not tied to the plot. the intended viewer kids age lowered from previous TF cartoon series. the 2007/2008 animated TF designs aimed more towards younger kids.

The main reason the current TF Prime cartoon. is more serious,is aimed at a higher viewer age. has more complex character developement. Has more adult themed detailed CGI robot/human/back ground designs. more grown up dialogue. has more plots/arcs/stories. has more violence. is all because Hasbro hasbro the freedom to do as they please. because the TF Prime cartoon series is airing on the Hub Network.

I know the valid complaint about the Hub. it's on a high tier cable/dish exspensive package. Clearly those TF fans who want to see the TF Prime cartoons not on the Hub have tons of options available like as follows: (1) You-tube members post these newer TF Prime & rescue bots cartoons extremly quick. usually within a few hours or day after it first aired on the hub network. (2)Hasbro is releasing each TF Prime cartoon series season on DVD. (3)Hasbro partnered with net flix to offer fans the option of watching stream downloaded/stream TF cartoon episodes like TF Prime,Generation one & Beastwars. (4) For the older TF cartoon like generation one that's airing on the hub network. their's those DVD TF cartoon series box sets available everywhere in stores & on-line to order & buy.

Pipe dream. Hasbro wants the total control of their IP. They have that with The Hub. They didn't have that with Cartoon Network. I'm sure if the Hub failed, Hasbro would find another way to get their shows back up again.

I think the main problem is all these highly specialized TF toy lines. that leave little room to squeeze in fan catered G-1 homages styled toys in them. is hasbro doing this on purpose or by accident?

Examples:

1- The movie verse TF toy lines had a distinct sculpted designs & look to them. that looked radically different than the G-1 1980's TF toys designs & sculpted toys.

it was hard to slip in classics styled/designed/sculpted TF G-1 homage toys in the movie verse toy lines.

2- The 2008 Animated toy line also had a distinct design/sculpt look to it. that made it hard for hasbro to slip in some G-1 styled cassics toys in it.

HONESTLY I THINK Hasbro needs to stop painting themselves into a corner. and stop doing all these highly stylized TF toy lines that look nothing like G-1 & Classics. the obvious solution here is to create a main line TF toy line styled in the G-1/classics designs/sculpts with a tie in cartoon/movie. doing this will please the veteran/casual fans,as we'll get more G-1 homage toys styled the way we like.

Having the classics/generations toy line with a smaller budget & no cartoon/movie tie in is a horrible idea. this limits the toys sizes & the number of figures getting made for this line. creativity is limited because the budget money doesn't allow any daring/bold ideas to get created.
