New Masterpiece is MP-12 Lambor (Sideswipe)!

I'm looking forward to this quite a bit. I expect the car to be kinda generic, like the classics toy. The repaint potential is huge and I'm in for all of them. Specifically G2 SS.

So, um, I'm cool with it and all, but would rather have had a Galvatron come out to compliment the MP Rodimus, or MP Ultra Magnus, or man an MP Ironhide/Ratchet before this.

I'm really interested to see what size he'll be, if he'll be the same as the Binaltech/Alternators scale...

 

 

I was just about to say this! My hopes are that he will indeed be BT/ALT scale because this guy really has my attention big time although I do think that they can create a different mold for Sunstreaker just because it would be cool to see how Takara would use the different transformation scheme for the same scaled car. I really hope this is done and done! :)))

What's the point in releasing one faction leader enemy Rodimus prime & not following thru with his faction leader enemy Galvatron.

 

I don't get it,did takara deem galvatron not worthy of the MP TF toy treatment? was it too hard or too simplistic of a design to tackle? not enought or too much of a challenge.

 

The 1980's Galvatron toy wasn't based off a real liscensed gun like 1984 Megatron was. So what's the hold up & lost of interest in doing a MP Galvatron.

 

Is Takara clueless about the G-1 Galvatron's use following & how many TF fans love the persona/toy?

 

Why not get all the faction leaders & second in commands done first for the MP TF toy treatment. then tackle lower ranking nobodies like sideswipe.

 

This right here is a example why hasbro & Takara are losing to 3rd party TF toy companies.

 

It makes no sense why Takara couldn't release a MP Galvatron directly after MP-09 Rodimus. We didn't need a smaller scale MP Convoy right away & ASAP. MP-10 should have been a new mold Galvatron.

 

the two recolors MP-11 & MP11S,I don't mind because all their doing is milking a already made mold for more cash profits.

 

In closing: How many TFormers members would love a MP Galvatron toy. that was super poseable. in height with the 9.5 inch MP Rodimus convoy. looked extremly 1986 movie/season 3 cartoon/toy accurate in both modes. had a 1986 cartoon/toy galvatron laser canon alt mode. came with cool accesories like as follows: the matrix of leader ship around a chain,1986 galvatron riffle gun,arm mount for the laser canon part to attach to the robot arm. external light up electronics in the laser canon accessory. maybe a grey burnth starscream boot.

 

Is their anyone here,who never wants to see a masterpiece TF Galvatron toy released by Takara? please state your reason why.

I am stoked to see if this actually comes out. I want to know what scale it will be as well. I will actually be really surprised if it is a 1:24 scale like the alternators. I am actually excited because of all the possible characters that can actually be made from this mold. I think shadowpanther hits the nail in the head. I bet depending on how well it sells will depend on what mold we would get next. I am guessing if they do have an officially licensed car it may lead to more? I kind of wish they would update the Lamborghini model to the Gallardo..or even a Reventon. If it bears the masterpiece name and doesn't come with a full out interior, rubber tires, engine, hood, etc....then I think they need to rethink calling it a masterpiece...XD

 

I love cars so I really really really really hope this leads to more....I love the alternators line and was disappointed when they went to the smaller scale with alterinty at 1:32 scale. I am guessing it will wind up being something like 1:20 scale. I would think 1:18 is to large though.

 

I would have rather seen MP Dinobots or Triple changer Blitzwing....but I won't complain about this one.....I don't think they will ever make a MP Galveston just because there isn't a lot of of repaint / retool possibilities to bring out.....

MP-1 was Convoy. Was MP-2, MP-3, and MP-4 Megatron? Nope. I will give you that MP-2 and MP-4 were repaints, so there was 1 total new mold in between MP-1 and MP-5. At least MP-12 is going to be a new mold and not another repaint of Convoy or another seeker repaint.

I would have Triple changer Blitzwing.

 

Tripple Changer Blitzwing,is on my top 5 most wanted Masterpiece TF toy list. If Takara ever released a Masterpiece Blitzwing toy,I'd want the robot mode to be 9.5 inches tall. the accessories would be the 1985 toy gun & toy sword.

 

I think a Masterpiece Blitzwing toy also has tons of decent recolor potential like as follows: (1)Regular 1985 Blitzwing toy/cartoon colors. (2)Blitzwing in his Diaclone toy colors. (3)1987 Flywheels,100% new flywheels robot head sculpt. new weapons & color the mold in flywheels 1987 toy colors. (4)1988 Masterforce overlord. 100% new overlord robot head sculpt. new weapons like 1988 overlord riffle gun & front jet/nose arm shield. no need for the two powermasters as this would be either the pre-powermasters form. or the after evoulved form where the powermasters human partners died & overlord merged his 2 alt modes into one body & became a tripple changer with a robot mode,a jet mode & a tank mode built into one huge body.

 

I don't think they will ever make a MP Galveston just because there isn't a lot of of repaint / retool possibilities to bring out.....

 

Takara can color the Masterpiece Galvatron toy in Three different color variation which are:(1)1986 Galvatron Movie/Season 3 cartoon colors,which had more purple,some white & less medium grey colors. (2)1986 Galvatron toy colors which got used for the Marvel TF G-1 USA & UK comics. The 1986 Galvatron toy colors had more medium grey,no white & less purple. (3)Translucent Orange colors for Galvatron,which got used in the 1986 TF Season 3 "Five faces of Darkness" episode.

Is Takara willing to create & pay the lamborgini company for a liscensed lamborgini alt mode for MP-12 Lambor/sideswipe? Will hasbro want to import this knowing that they'll also be obligated to pay the lamborgini car company liscense use fees. or will takara/hasbro create another awful not-lamborgini alt mode like they did with classics sideswipe.

 

It's hard to stomach & believe takara would create a 8 inch to 9.5 inch over sized masterpiece TF toy based off a 1984 diaclone transformer car/bot that was a basic sized 1984 toy. then when it got a classics update toy is got a deluxe toy.

 

it was extremly hard for most to stomach the alternators/BT toys having voyager sized car/bots.

 

I can't imagine most having thev stomach to digest a now extremly over sized 8 inch to 9.5 inch Masterpiece sideswipe toy.

 

Didn't takara say in variious on-line,magazine & convention interviews that the masterpiece TF toy line was reserved for TF characters that were high ranking faction leaders or second in commands.

 

Sorry,I don't like MP-12 Sideswipe/lambor because their are literally dozens of other faction leaders & second in commands that deserve the MP toy treatment. like 1986 Galvatron. masterforce overlord. victory 1989 victorysabre. deathsauras.

 

Most assumed if takara didn't want to do certain faction leaders,they'd at the very least attempt to do the big bully type transformers that were shown huge in the media/toy lines like as follows: sixshot,overlord,metroplex,omega supreme,fort max,blitzwing,astrotrain,maybe a few combiners.

 

Honestly i'm not a happy camper about the MP-12 Lambor/sideswipe news reveal. this is what the classics,$29.99 HA & Alternators toy lines are for. just because some of these lines got phased out/cancelled. doesn't mean everything goes crazy/haywire & we start putting TF characters in wrong size classes & toy lines like MP where they have no business being.

 

My only guess why takara did a MP-12 Lambor/sideswipe. is because it's got excellent repaint/remold potential. they can literally repaint this guy a dozen times over & even call it different TF toy persona's like as follows: (1) lambor/sideswipe, (2)sunstreaker with a new head sculpt,maybe new ground effects,maybe the boosters on the trunk. (3)repaint the toy in black G-2 sidesipe colors. (4)repaint the toy in g-1 beakdown colors with a new headsculpt. (5)repaint the toy in G-2 breakdown colors. (6) redalert with remolded police sirens on the car roof.

(7) the ultimate recolor/remold. 1987 punch/counterpunch,new heads & weapons & whatever else.

 

I suspose it could have been worse we could have received a MP-12 wheelie.

 

Hasbro must have pushed for sideswipe to get a MP toy & takara might have been obeying orders.

 

On the bright side,we don't have to worry about bumblebee getting any MP toys. because bumblebee already gets all those over sized ultimate,supreme & leader sized toys that are technically on the same league & field of the superior quality of the average MP TF toy.

 

LAST NOTES about MP-12 Lambor/sideswide: hopefully This thing comes with a car interior like seats,sterring wheel,dash board,stick shifter,mirrors,rubber tires & everything. hopefully the interior looks more realistic & comes with more stuff than the Alternators/BT & $29.99 Ha movie verse TF toys had.

Well, one I like Sideswipe and his design, so this is a natural for me. Two, the repaints can be great as he's basically generic car bot. So, some cool stuff could come of it. I figure it would be better than Rodimus due to not cramming 4 slightly different modes into one toy.

 

I'd be all over a Galvatron, but to be honest I was surprised to see Rodimus as the ficus seems to be more on seasons 1&2 characters. Course Rodimus was part of the movies 2010 thing Takara was doing.
