Please, check out,my TF recolored toy idea. It's a awesome idea & you'll be sorry,if you didn't check out the idea

If hasbro was smart, cared or knew what they were doing, they'd make recolors come in different size scales. use the same mold but release it in different size scales. 3rd party & KO toy companies do this all the time on a limited budget. how hard can it be for hasbro to do this on their bigger budget.

It would be cool to get recolors in different size scales using the same mold. because this would show the importance & rank of certain TF characters. examples: (1) starscream is often a second in command rank,so he'd get a voyager sized toy. thundercracker could get a deluxe toy, while skywarp get a basic toy. all three seekers would use the same exact mold but released in different sizes & recolors. (2)Cyclonus & Scourge, could get ultra sized TF toy molds, while their armada/drones get deluxe sized toys with slightly different colors. they'll all use the same mold but in different sizes & colors. (3)Megatron could be released as a voyager sized toy. then using the same exact mold, the mold can get increased to leader size, recolored & called Galvatron. since Galvatron was represented in the TF G-1 Media as the more powerful & bigger version of the persona/spark.

they'd all use the same mold but in different sizes & colors. (4)Hotrod would get a voyager mold, then the mold would get increased to leader size, recolored a darker red+darker orange+darker gold highlights colors & called Rodimus Prime. (4)Optimus would get a voyager new mold. then the mold would get done in deluxe size, recolored & called magnus. since optimus prime would get the bigger mold because he has a higher rank & the matrix inside his chest made his body grow bigger. they'd all use the same mold but in different sizes & colors. (5)G-1 trio of insecticons they'd all get deluxe molds. while the insecticons drone got basic molds & recolored differently. they'd all use the same mold but in different sizes & colors. (6)Sky-byte would get a ultra size mold, gnaw would use the same mold but in voyager size with different colors. the drone sharticons would use the same mold but in deluxe size scale, with different colors. they'd all use the same mold but in different sizes & colors. (7) Recent example: Singapore universal park store recolor wheelie basic size using the RTS Jazz deluxe toy mold. they'd all use the same mold but in different sizes & colors. (8)recent example: universal park store recolor Megatron leader size with a different robot head, using the HFTD Bludgeon voyager sized mold. universal park store recolor. recent example: both ark unicron & axalon takara united toys increased from deluxe to ultra size. using the deluxe sized toys of energon sharkticon & deluxe 10th anniversary beast megatron. all use the same mold but in different sizes & colors

Before anyone starts thrashing the idea above & say something like: "liscensed official toy companies have never done this before." please take into account that macross, toynami & bandia does this all the time with their robotech plane/bot toys by releasing different size scales & repaints using the same exact mold design. Hasbro/Takara did this a few times for their TF toy lines during energon & cybertron. hasbro/takara released a ultra sized megatron/galvatron & then a leader sized megatron/galvatron using the same exact mold. Hasbro/Takara for the cybertron 2005 toy line released a voyager sized & supreme sized Starscream using the same exact toy mold design. love to see this idea of increasing & decreasing recolored TF toys be the norm & not just done every 20 years by hasbro/takara for the TF toy lines

If Hasbro "resize" the mold for a new price point, then they've created a new mold based on the original, and then the new mold would need to be tested to make sure the figure was stable, transformed right, passed the safety tests etc. They wouldn't be saving much doing this apart from the initial concept work. It would be almost as much work as making a completely new mold.

Sure, bootleg companies do resized knockoffs, but they don't have the safety standards and testing that Hasbro does. Half the time the resized bootlegs don't even work right.

It's not exactly using the same mold when you talk about scale. If a company releases a product built to a 1:32 scale, then later on releases a similar product in a 1:24, you would have two different molds. The 1:32 scale would use less detailing due to it's smaller size. It would also use less parts and resources to manufacture it. The 1:24 would require more parts and resources due to the amount of detail you can now place in the product. There would be a vast amount of differences, different safety specifications and tests performed, and a quantified difference in parts, raw material and resources used. This alone isn't cost-effective for toy companies like Hasbro, despite their bigger budget. What's cost-effective for Hasbro is to take an existing mold in an existing scale and change a few minor details (head, hands, weapons, paint scheme and other miniscule details). That is what's cost-effective for them. They've been doing that practice for many years now, and they feel it's what works for them. Will we ever get them to change practice? Probably not.

Energon 2003 ultra & leader sized megatron/galvatron had the same detail & same parts. nothing new was added nor taken away. all that was done was make one toy ultra sized while the other was leader sized. so clearly it can be done this way. bandai, macross, toynami, also do this all the time with their different sized robotech valkyre toys.

Those weren't made with the same mold, but with two different, nearly-identical ones, apart from size. Sure, its possible to remake a design at a different size, but that's still the creation of a new mold, not resizing the mold.

You completely missed the mark in reading what I posted. In Energon, they made an Ultra-sized Megatron and then a smaller version of the figure, which was released with a smaller Optimus Prime that can combine with the other deluxes of that lineup. To reiterate my point, Hasbro made one mold of the Ultra size, which featured a good amount of detail and a ton of other elements that made that figure just a badass in it's own right. The smaller version was made out of a completely different mold. It was scaled down, and some details were omitted to make the figure work. Two molds for two differently sized figures. How you ultimately come to point of it being one mold is beyond me. As I said....you missed the mark.

Your wrong,Hasbro first released the leader sized energon Megatron/galvatron toy. then many months later hasbro released a TRU store exclusive which consisted of a ultra sized megatron toy that was packaged as a verse gift set with a deluxe scale energon optimus that was able to combine with other energon deluxes.

their was no energon megatron/galvatron toy that was smaller than ultra size. both the energon leader megatron & ultra sized megatron were the same exact design that was released in the ultra & leader size molds. their were no parts ommitted, their were was no sculpt/design elements ommitted. nothing was simplified not taken away. both toys had the same exact gimmicks, accessories & light up features.

I actually own both the TRU energon megatron & leader sized megatron toys & have them both on a display shelf.

They actually did release a Galvatron smaller than Ultra. Kabaya's Candy Toy (and a Happy Meal toy, come to think of it.). :tflaugh

Anyways, your argument still doesn't work, due to the original releases. Hasbro produced the Super class Mega/Galvatron for their markets, while Takara produced the Ultra class Galvatron for Japan. Hasbro wasn't even sure they were doing a domestic release of the Ultra class figure until the 2-pack.

Takara did eventually release the bigger/super/leader sized Megatron/Galvatron toy for their Japan market in USA packaging with a Takara japanese sticker added on the box. it was labeled as a "special usa edition exclusive."
