Hasbro Full Year Revenues Up 7% to Record, Led By 35% Growth in Boys Category Including Transformers

Hasbro, Inc. held their earnings call this morning where they announced that their full-year revenues were up 7% to a record of $4.29 billion, compared to $4 billion in 2010. For the full year, the boys category jumped 35%, led by Transformers and Beyblade. The Entertainment and Licensing segment revenues for the full-year were up 19% to $162.2 million, up from $136.5 million in 2010, from Transformers Dark of the Moon and reflects the sale of television programming globally, Hasbro reports. Not everything was crappy. Skyhammer was the $#!%!! Plus there were a few other wins in the category. :)

Maybe if they released the figures we wanted in normal stores (Reveal the Shield, Prime FE) they'd make more money. Not that I minded completing RTS for half the price at discount stores, but it was very hit or miss.

I think Beyblade had more to do with this than TF to be honest. The Beyblade stuff seemed to move pretty well. I can't see how DOTM would be considered a 'success' when it's just barely now that shelf stock is low.

When I worked at K-Mart we rarely moved any BeyBlade. In fact we had shit tons of overstock that just sat around in a warehouse.

Every store I have been in lately is overstocked with Beyblade and Zhu Zhu. both are clearance and they are moving worse then kreo is on clearance.

I'm sure DOTM is considered a success because there is less DOTM then there was ROTF. And so far I have only found the Leader Bumblebee multipack and the Target Exclusives on clearance

Demand may have been down because of the congestion problems at every Walmart in the country.

 

You know...Pegs stuffed to the breaking point with deluxe OPs and orange Roadbusters....
