In part one of "Origin of the Species" you can find out that some of the campaign re-issue Transformers in the past 10 years are actually Diaclone reissues. This includes Tigertrack (yellow Sideswipe) and even the gold and silver chromed EHobby Jazz and Streak. Even the Lucky Draw black Tracks is an homage to the rare Diaclone "Tracks" that was only released in Finland.

I do not have any of these ones, or their recent Japanese reissues. One thing is for sure. Maz points out that there seems to be a new generation of Pre-TF collectors that are willing to spend gobs more money than the older generation. I have seen this first hand for sure. These same toys and even the Diaclone originals sold for half what they are going for nowadays. Its another one of those situation where you put something off buying because you know it will still be around later. This is true, but your wallet may not forgive you!

I should point out that the yellow Powered Convoy was not a "reissue" in the sense that this article is written. :tfevil

Part 3!

Now I've actually got something here. SE16 Black Megatron that I bought in Canada. Also the most I've ever paid for a TF. Here is an older picture of it when I was doing photo inventory of my boxed items a few years back:

It was the last one of 3 that were for sale at Anime North 2001, incidently my last adventure into Canada iirc. The photo of it (from prior to me buying it on that Sunday) was found on a website that had a bunch of photos from that convention.

I've been told I overpaid, but since my original pre-order got cancelled by BBTS due to import restrictions, getting one of these in the US seemed almost impossible. And yes I did lie to the customs agent saying I didn't have anything illegal in the trunk, just a bunch of anime videos. :tfevil

One thing I don't know about why they decided to make Road Hauler green. Its obviously supposed to be Hauler from the G1 cartoon, but probably it would be too close to the Grapple release. They could have decided to use the red foot plates, which would have been interesting.
