How complete is complete?

If you're going to say a collection is complete then it has to be complete, everything.

However, the work around is to set your criteria to fit your goals. For example, someone that likes Seekers could say they want to have a complete "Universe style deluxe Seekers" collection, and that's pretty reasonable. I have Universe Rodimus and Generations Kup and Blurr and consider that a complete set that I display together.

In the end it's a hobby you do for enjoyment, so each of us is free to define complete as we feel. Until you try to sell it of course :)

Did anyone else just zone out?

Anyways, for lack of reading what anyone else has said, I agree with Tripredacus and KFGatri.

Can you imagine someone trying to complete McFarlane's Spawn collection? Not while The Heap exists. Theres are 282,031,250 variants of that toy.

I agree with Trip and KFGatri also, Buy the figures you want and when you have them, then you collection is complete. Don't bother with the figures that aren't worth Scrap. So you don't waste money

As strange as it sounds I do not have to imagine someone trying to complete McFarlane's Spawn Collection. I actually have a friend back in Chicago who has every single Spawn figure that was released and some of the prototypes also.

Thats cool and all but I was just saying that some Completionists consider variants as a part of a collection. The Heap has a ton of spots where factory workers could put any number colored/shaped "shards of glass" or "garbage" not including different arrangements of said garbage for the mouth to spit up. It essentially leaves a staggering number of possibilities that in order (by that definition of completist) to complete the collection would mean they needed to own them all.

Aside from that I cant imagine it being to difficult to complete a Spawn collection given the amount of time between releases and small quantity of figures per line.

It's one reason why this discussion is irrelevant, Simply because everyone has a different idea as to what Complete actually is. I count Varients, I count figures that I like, I count certain Knock Off's and 3rd Party products. I also count European and South American Yet I don't count figures that I think are trash and not worth my money. IE Minicons I don't count them at all and they all sit in a garbage can. hot crap shot I don't count as I refuse to own any of him unless I'm going to the range to shoot my M4 or M9 . Animated and Prime bulkheads are in the same boat. They are good for Target practice and nothing more. So really it is up to the individual in deciding what is complete to them

Speaking of Bulkhead, I convinced EOD to put an Animated one next to one of their controlled detonations. That was awesome :drool

I wouldnt destroy a toy aside from maybe ROTF Rampage but I would probably give up (almost) any of mine to see that. Sounds awesome.
