Transformers conversation is go!

Ok folks, let's talk some Transformers. Got a funny fan experience? Something maybe fun or touching? Maybe weird?

I'll start, true story.

When RiD was out, I went nuts over the CR toys I was able to get finally. Well, I was impatient for wave 2 and went on a late night toy hunt. At the time I had a retail job and the next day off. Welp, I found the wave 2 deluxes (the MW molds). After getting home, I cracked them open and decided to watch some of my CR tapes, RiD had just started and I was still pumped for it. Well, couldn't help but to think, what if those jet guys I just got could attack a building like Megatron flies through that building in the first episode.

Why is this relevant? The date was September 10 2001.

Next morning was a shock, to say the least and I've felt guilty for thinking about that scenario for almost a decade now.

Yikes, creepy.

The other day I was messing with DOTM Laserbeak, and I accidentally dropped him. There was a backpack on the floor next to where I was sitting, with a mesh pocket on one side. Little Laserbeak landed clinging to the outside of the mesh pocket with both feet and his beak! Never touched the floor. Smart little guy!

That day was interesting (except I slept through it) since I had my calendar marked for Slayer's new CD "God Hates Us All" was scheduled to come out that day.

I too was excited about RID. I remember I had watched the very small (they seemed big at the time) Car Robots episodes on TFW and couldn't wait to see them on my TV and in English. That was a key point because they weren't subtitled and I don't know Japanese. I was slightly disappointed in the changes that were made but it wasn't such a big deal. I remember my work schedule had changed after "Secret Weapon D-5" and I never got to see any of the rest of the series.

And after seeing that episode, from that day on, D-5 in the vending machine became known as "the Secret Weapon," which for about 3 months was Swedish Fish. They changed it to sesame seeds, so I stopped buying the Secret Weapon in the vending machine.

It was Christmas time, and I was looking at a Transformer that I was going to buy, when a little kid came up to me and asked me if I would give it to him. So I said sure and gave it to him. Then a guy out of no where grabbed from the kid and started walking off. I told the guy to give it back to the kid and he started swearing and took a shot at me, so I knocked him out and gave the Transformer back to the kid, and then got escorted out of the Target.

Last night I was shopping with my family at a supermarket. My wife was pushing our protoform around in the trolley, so I put Masterpiece Rodimus inside the stroller, sitting there like a baby, and pushed that around. These two boys went by, one wearing an Animated Optimus Prime hoodie, and the younger kid saw Rodimus sitting in the stroller (oh, and the stroller had Softimus Prime and Slumblebee hanging off it too) and he couldn't take his eyes off it! He looked at Rodimus and tried to tell his brother and father about it, but they ignored him. Then he noticed that I wear wearing, as usual, a Transformers cap, Transformers jacket, Transformers shirt with a Transformers backpack (with Transformers keyholders dangling off it), so he went straight up to me and stared at me! I didn't look back at him cos I was talking to my wife at the time, but I saw what he was doing from the corner of my eye. :P

In 2005 I was at an international airport overseas, and a customs officer opened my backpack to inspect the contents after it had passed through X-Ray. Among other things it contained Cybertron Leader Class Galvatron and Deluxe Snarl. She asked me what they were so I started telling the entire history of Transformers -- like from the dawn of time with the creation of the multiverse, Unicron, Primus etc etc etc. It was a pretty lengthy conversation and I could see her eyes glazing over, but she didn't stop me because ... well... she asked! :)

Stop trolling.

Back on topic....

I've only committed an international law once. It involved Anime North 2001 where I was on the TF panel but wasn't because email sucked back then and didn't get the staff badge to a bunch of people. Didn't help that only one of the other panelists showed up. Those were some dark TF times for sure. Anyways, I decided not to actually sit on the panel just because I didn't get the badge, plus I was an embarassable type individual back then... makes me wish I could go back in time. But anyways, I got to be on the "panel" from the seats even tho the other guy (I don't remember who it was tbh) had to be by himself at the table. My greatest memory was arguing with some anime nerd about how I WAS EXTREMELY CERTAIN that there was no Diaclone cartoon.

But back to the "law" aspect... That was the place I had spent ALMOST all of my money on random crap like movies and TF stickers. It was there that there were THREE SE-16 Megatron toys (the black version) and ooooohhh it was so tempting. The amazing price on them was WAY over what I had. Fortunately, my pal Juban had some extra cash (somehow after all the box sets he bought) that I borrowed. I told him "I'll buy you a 24x CD ROM drive after payday" and he agreed. So I had bought SE-16 Black Megatron at nearly $300. At this time, the US was extremely strict about this toy.

Originally, BBTS had listed the regular 16 Megatron re-issue on their website as a pre-order. I was in on it of course. But then it got pulled and there was a form letter from BBTS about the cancellation. I had emailed them back and Joel told me that he had the order placed but US Customs told BBTS it was illegal to import. It meant no "legal" way for people in the US to get the Megatron re-issue. So of course I have all my cool stuff from the con (incidentally the last con I went to) in the trunk of my car. So when customs agent at the border asks me what I have in the trunk (he might have mentioned contraband, I can't remember) I say just some movies and comic books from the Anime convention in Toronto.

See that? My one TF related crime. I smuggled a TF over the border. Had they known I had a toy that transformed into a replica of an actual firearm I'd be in whatever country it is between the US and Canada.

I was scared out of my mind. Don't do that ever!

It's called conversation :P Also remember I already posted in here :D

Besides that's not the only thing I have done when it came to Transformers

I got my HA Sideswipe for free. This time it was at Walmart

I was in line Walmart to pay for everything and right when the cashier was about to scan Sideswipe, she got called away, and when she came back she just put Sideswipe in the bag without scanning it. I didn't notice until I got the final total $16. So I know she didn't ring up Sideswipe. I didn't say anything. I paid for what she rang up then walked out of the store with a free Sideswipe. Not my problem the cashier didn't scan it.
