SDCC 2011 - Transformers Prime Preview - He Is Coming

Jeff Kline revealed in an interview with us at BotCon 2011 that everything alluded to in Transformers Prime will be fulfilled. And he was not lying! we were treated to a clip that previews what is to come in the second season of the three planned seasons of Transformers Prime, and in this season, the Autobots team with an unexpected ally to battle a legendary threat to Earth's existence. No its not the Fallen, its just Unicron. Boring!

 

So when Optimus dies, who is going to take on the role as leader? Sentinel? Rodimus? Or are we going to get a new Prime?

 

Bring in Liege Maximo or someone else

They could make this work, basically finally give the tiny crazed unicron that was supposed to be in galaxyforce a home. Basically being a renement of his formal...ahem glory. He is seeking to regain his planetary status and finally consume the universe, so he goes to form his own undead legion of warriors. Only problem is that he is having to compete with megatron for control. So being the bright little star he is, unicron starts trying to off megatron. Thus forcing megs and prime to join forces and send the little planet eater that couldent back to the dark corner of the wherever the heck he came from.

 

Before which, he manages to couple together the main characters that were...offed very early on, and gives them a chance to be "reborn" when prime uses the matrix on unicron. *cough force to drive wave 2 and 3 toy sales cough*

 

After this unicron will still pop in every so often, probably with some familiar faces like a prime version of A/E/C sideways. Although he may not be directly tied to the main story as he was before, and is only doing minor things that will lead up to his "rebirth" at the finally of season 3. At which point he gets warped into another dimension or something something by the matrix. "It would be hilarious if by chance it warped him and sideways into the armada storyline." Gotta love those story cycles.

It's not the Fallen, its Unicron, a couple other things we are going to see in the next season are the Dinobots and Combiners, but they didn't say which combiners
