I bought this a month ago and I haven't had any problems with the ball joints, but I have only changed it 2 times. IMO I feel the Optimus figure is actually cheaper feeling than the preview version, probably because the mold has now been used 4 times in such a short period of time. I just like the fact that you can connect the bases together like the original Micromaster bases.

 

If anyone buys the Ark set it looks really good with Bumblebee's and Optimus' base on either side.

I change mine around several times during the day, it is my current go-to fiddle toy...no breakage or anything like that at all, but I did switch out the prime that came with it with the preview prime, just because the one that came with it does feel cheaper for some reason.

I love the look of this Prime in alt mode, but thats about it. After I opened him and transformed him once he stayed in alt mode on the shelf. One of the very few Primes I display in alt mode now that I think of it.
