G1 Legends Megatron

Giant Robot

Recommended Posts

I found this figure hiding with some stuff I bought back from university with me this morning and decided I was going to repaint it. I'd had enough of that orange safety blaze.

Paint job more than slightly inspired by my 3A collection...

I'm not sure how I feel about the worn deco, but it's well done. Good work! :thumb

Thanks :D

I took some pics with my iPhone, it turns out the camera on that does close focus much better than my real camera :wtf

Given that the Walther P38 pistol was first used in WWII, I'd say the old rusty deco is perfect. :)

Haha, that's exactly what I was going for. I'd seen some footage on YouTube of rusted-up Walthers and Lugers being pulled out of abandoned WWII supply caches and thought it'd be a good look for Megatron.

It's a pity there isn't another realistic gun version aside from the Masterpiece, I'd like to do a larger, more detailed version.

In other news, I have the Transformers Legends reissue of Sixbuilder as Devastator. I was considering dirtying that up, but it's one of my favourite mini-transformers...

If you don't mind dropping some coin, and getting DOTM Megatron, Takara is doing a Transformers Chronicle (re?)issue of the G1 Megatron. :thumb Not sure if he's complete, as the Tokyo Toy Fair display only showed him with his scope / fusion cannon, no stock & silencer.

I saw some pics of that. I never had a G1 Megatron...

I imagine the DotM Megatron could do with some weathering. Even though it does seem to be the most interesting design from the new film, I'm as done with the Bayverse aesthetic as I am primary school. Roll on the reboot, please God smoother robot designs...

I've been offered $40 for this figure, which seems like a good deal. That said, I have no idea what the going rate for customs is...
