The thing is there are so many possibilities, It makes you wonder why Takara doesn't do it. Also why not some updates of the Japanese characters? Toss Star Saber and Victory Leo into the Generations line, even if they are exclusive to Japan. Sooner or later they will end up in the states anyway. Takara also knows we will go out of our way to buy Japan versions so why not go with some of the Japanese Only TF's also?

Makes one wonder

No matter what people will always complain about not having money, thats an obvious one right there LOL

Main thing right now is start introducing the new generation of fans to the old mythical G1 of both sides of the Pacific. Star Saber is one of the most well known of the Japan only Transformers and he is still highly sought after. So it wouldn't be a big leap to make a deluxe or Voyager sized Star Saber. Dai Atlas has appeared in the US in the comics. And Takara is known for doing exclusives of G1 characters so why not an exclusive of a Japan only character? As Takara knows Hasbro will eventually want to bring it over to the states anyway.

Yeah, but let's be honest here. Think any company is going to be concerned about a handful of people who might not buy it anyway say? Also, why would that be a concern? Complaints are inivitable. Money walks.

Before I make a decision, has anyone here bought the higher quality knock-off (the one with actual metal parts, accurate paint applications, full sticker sheet, replica instructions and G1 box)? If the quality is as good as the Mirage and Wheeljack knock-offs, I'd rather buy that at 40% of the cost.

It's a good toy, even the stickers were very good.

Takara Tomy have updated the official Transformers web site with a new section featuring the next figure in the Generation 1 reissue series Encore Devastator. Takara have posted our first official looks at the figure set with images of the combiner gestalt figure and the Constructicon team members Scrapper, Scavenger, Bonecrusher, Hook, Long Haul and Mixmaster each shown in their robot and alternate constriction vehicle modes. These figures will be coming our way in November of this year. Read the Full News Story Here

So it looks like the only thing they changed for this was the color of the forearms for Devestator and use pins instead of screws for joints. Also got to wonder if Hooks legs are still fragile.

These still look to be early prototype shots (they're the same shots that were shown before even), individual bots don't match the figures used to make Devastator. Just look at Mixmaster. Probably the arms will have green buttons, too.
