Do I want to get the I-Gear Seeker Jets?

Recommended Posts

Do i want to get the I-Gear seeker jets?! After seeing the pic that TFSource posted on their Facebook and the video posted at Collecticon.org, i'm more than half tempted to buy the trio now. With Takara already remaking MP Optimus, i'm not sure if they will even make the seekers in their own MP line. I would much rather have Takara versions but the I-Gear ones look awesome. but $400 (w/Shipping) is a lot of money for the 3. I can't decide.

Takara-Tomy had plenty of time to make their own MP Coneheads. I hate to look ignorant, but all they needed to do was retool the head, which they could use three times, and make three new sets of wings. It seems rather simple to me, but what the hell do I know?

Yes, you do want to get them. I think the real question is, do you want to pay $400 for them. I am sure if they were about $100 each I would go for them. $400 is a car payment or two for most people.

I don't disagree, but some people pay far more than that for transformers related items haha

exactly! TFSource has a preorder special if you want all 3. Instead of $390 for all 3 individually, you can get them together for $342. So i'm saving $48 but still. hard pill to swallow here.

According to collecticon.org who's at Botcon, apparently the notDevastator sets are going to retail for around $80 a piece. I would much rather have those.

Ok, i just talked myself out of it.

I think I have too. The whole stolen credit card info problem that TFSource is working to my advantage. I had the set of 3 on pre-order, but the credit card info I have stored at TFSource is no good anymore. I won't know what will happen until all three jets are in stock, but I may be able to get out of my pre-order.

Thats only about 115 each then - and the price the Takara seekers are pulling right now are a little higher. Especially Starscream!

My thought was basically "HasTak are extremely unlikely to ever bother making them, so if I want to own MP coneheads I have to pay a bit more for third party versions". There's always a tiny possibility that official HasTak coneheads may show up in the coming years, but that's the chance you take I guess. Even if they did, would they be any better than the iGear ones? Unlikely.

I had a scary thought about the MP line recently; how often does a line carry on as long as that one has? And to be remaking Optimus Prime again seems like a strange choice... What if that's it?? Ten Masterpieces, a nice round number, bookended by Optimus Primes. *shudder* Hope I'm wrong and just overthinking things!

i think it does well enough to be continued. as long as sales in the states hold up, they'll still make enough money to continue it. i'm just ready for more new figures and not repaint after repaint after repaint. I just hope they don't go off making all new versions of everyone. even though now Megatron is going to be a giant over MP10. I wouldn't whine if they made a new mold of him.
