Custom Generations Soundwave by Jin Saotome

Wow, I've been wanting to do this ever since I saw the Reveal the Shield Perceptor mold. It uses Perceptor and a WFC Soundwave. You need to lop off both the neck and head peg, then install a tiny ball joint for his neck. Then saw the shoulder cannon in half and the same with Perc's roof cannon. Glue them together and it still flips over to form the lights. The gun can be stored up in the vehicle and fits in Perc's hand perfectly. I painted him using Tamiya TS-19 Brilliant Blue and various Testors/Formula P3 paints. His chest window even flips down Soundwave style, it was perfect! Now I have a modern style Soundwave that still has a G1 feel to it. I used that Tamiya [For Plastics] lacquer for his base blue. Dries FAST and smooth. I recommend it over Krylon any day now. Only thing is it's $5-$6 a can and you only get a third of the amount in a normal spraypaint can.View the Custom Gallery Here

... but I can't agree with that. I don't want Soundwave to be a repaint of anybody, if that is what you are implying.

But you must admit for a repaint that is excellent. And face it, I don't see Soundwave getting his own mold for Generations. To me, the mold absolutely makes sense. It has the chest and shoulder cannon and the overall aesthetics down.

Yup, thats why I said it was awesome and scary that it worked... and yeah, I don't see another Soundwave mold for Generations (or any other name they come up with later on that caters to G1) for at least.... 2-3 years? I just don't want this mold to be Hasbro's lazy attempt at a G1 Soundwave, yenno? Since the first wave of Classics, other than Megs and Prime, which other g1-ish characters got a new g1-ish mold?

Thanks guys! Didn't I see that there was a Walmart listing for a 'human alliance soundwave' somewhere? I wish we get a classic version of him but for now this will have to do.,

That is excellent, the detailing is very striking. A new Soundwave for Generations/RTS would be great to see, with a new body and so on, as long as it truly suits the character and looks as good as the War For Cybertron version.
