New Transformers movie style lego sets released

My copyright senses are tingling.... I hope they got permission to use Optimus Prime's image!

They are in China, where Copyright enforcement isn't that strict on Chinese companies copying non-Chinese products. Anyways, Lego lost a legal case recently protecting their brick design, and technically it doesn't say "Optimus Prime" and it doesn't have an Autobot symbol... so Hasbro can't say much about some red and blue block robot.

Still, if Hasbro and Lego got together and released the "real thing" with this design in the US for about $25-30, I bet it would sell. They should do the fair thing and copy the design from Kazi right back!

I don't know if official Lego Transformers would be as good as these. Most licensed Lego products seem to have a lot pre-made parts, requiring little assembly.

It really seems like Hasbro sets are getting more and more dumbed down.

i'm just stating my opinion on this so anybody that reads this please dont argue with me about this topic, i personally think that the Lego Company should sue this company for making these, im not mad or angry at all but just by looking at those pics you can tell every single piece on those sets are real Lego pieces

Lego already did sue various clone brick makers, and for a long time they had rights to their exact brick shape (which is why older immitation bricks were a different size), but eventually they lost the legal battle and so Lego-Clone makers can now produce their bricks legally.

Also, I own several of the sets from the first series. Speed King (the orange helicopter) has ALL Lego shaped bricks, but Windstorm Falcon (the white and blue jet) has 4 unique bricks in the package Lego doesn't make - 2 "L" brackets and 2 wings. You can use similar parts from Lego to make it work, but they are a little different, so technically they are original parts.

Looking at the Optimus Prime clone, his head seems to be unique at least. No Lego brick shaped like that. Maybe the fists too. Most of the rest are Lego bricks.

It would be cooler if they would make the actual Headquarter Sets instead of the figures....Couldn't be that much more than iGear was charging for theirs.
