Takara 2010 Unicron

Ok so I just got 2010 Unicron. I almost wish I hadn't bothered, with all the hassle... Seller didn't mark the value down as requested, so I got slapped with an extra £26 import and VAT fee, and the parcel delivered to the nearest depot for pick up (a 30 mile round-trip).

After all that, when I got him home I noticed the package was rattling a bit. Figured it was some sort of packing foam pieces in there, but the parcel turned out to be exactly the size of the actual Unicron box. Which still rattled! For one terrible moment I thought I'd been duped and the box would be empty apart from loose bits, but after opening (it was sealed as you would expect) thankfully everything was in there... with an added bonus of a small bag of gravel bits, inside the box with ol' Uni! The bag was split open and thousands of tiny grey stones were loose in the box (and had got inside the arms and legs of the toy too).

Anyone else had this? Is it normal? Is it ballast or something? The packaging seems a bit crap for a Takara toy; just a big folded piece of brown card with Unicron twisty-tied to it. At the end of the day I'm relieved to have Unicron in one piece, but he's very dusty and rattles a lot :roll

Should I complain?

Well, I raised these issues with the seller and apparently they put the gravel in to increase the weight "otherwise sending this big package to UK will charge double shipping fee due to the volume of the package."

He has at least offered a £5 refund as compensation, but I've yet to decide whether to accept...
