K-mart

Okay, now us collectors go to alot of places to hunt for transformers. Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, and Target come to mind when going to places to hunt for transformer figures. Now alot of us(myself included) go to K-mart to look for new tf's, but has anyone noticed that K-mart put out the newest figures awhile after they are supposed to be out. Example: last month I stopped by my local K-mart to look for any new tf's they might have got in and noticed that they have a Mindwipe, and a Defendor Optimus Prime there when it has been like 3 months after they were released everywhere else. Kind of makes me wonder if all K-marts are living in the past, what do you guys think?

I just stopped by my local K-Mart today. They have the exact same, old, stuff as yours, but they did have some 5-pack PCC's. Plus the prices seem high compared to their rivals. They're living too much in the '09 ;) The interesting thing is the website as all the latest TFs; whether or not they *actually* have them is another question.

Speaking of the past, I found the Supreme class Energon Starscream at K-Mart a few years ago, cheap too. I bought it to keep, but I was disappointed with the simplicity of such a gigantic Transformer, so I sold it on ebay.

Oddly enough KMart was the only local store to carry the scout wave with Skystalker and crew.

At $10.99 I passed easy (especialy since SS was always scooped up quick).

I went in the other day because they are litterly around the block from me and when I have to park in their lot it's easy to cut through the store. On that trip I saw the exact same thing, a ton of Mindwipe's and AD Primes....

All I can say is, it's KMart. I haven't used them for TFs since Energon, and between the low selection, high prices, and spotty distribution, I have no intent on changing my mind on that. I'd rather stick with a more reliable retailer.

I actually I know for a fact that K-mart is owned by Sears, a month later that I found that out----my K-mart closed down, shut its doors for good.

I would say watch the trend to follow, it will most likely be the same story.

not to nitpick, but Kmart actually owns Sears, they just kept the Sears Holdings name when they merged which was about the only thing they did right when they took over. anywho, yeah Kmart has been treading water for quite some time now, and will soon be taking Sears with it under the icy depths of foreclosure.

do i sound like a disgruntled employee? if i do its because i am

Last time I was in a Kmart was because my wife wanted to see why I refuse to go to K Mart. we walked in she said it was dirty and she couldn't find anything she wanted to buy. We walked by the TF section and there sitting was Defender Optimus Prime with a price of $26. She knew I had just bought Defender Optimus Prime at Target for $20. She couldn't believe that not only was the store dirty but everything was overpriced and the workers rude.

Totally agree. Like i posted earlier on another thread. K-mart died in canada a decade ago. It was terrible to go in there cause you felt dirty and cheap.

The only upside to going into a store like that is knowing they have TF's and lots of them from months back that you can't find anywhere else because nobody shops there.

MAn.........you should have seen the K-marts here when they were breathing their last gasps of life here in Canada. They were worse than the dirtiest flea market you've ever been too...you knew when you walked in that you were gonna catch some shit that you needed antibiotics to fix......but it was too late.

We've been dreaming of this one, and it appears a transforming K.I.T.T. will be coming as soon as August! It must be something big and or special with a $49. - Read the Full News Story

    • EDIT 2: Okay, I think my real problem with this was the marketing image. The main image shows four robot turtles standing together, so I was ready for four toys, not one. Admittedly, I was so disappointed that I did not bother to read the article fully. That's my fault. I apologize. That said, now that I understand it is THE van that turns into a robot, not "robot versions of the four turtles," that makes more sense, but I don't get the four heads. There are images here of a bandana free head which I gather is not included. I would actually prefer a non-specific generic turtle head for the robot. I think that would remove a lot of confusion. At least for me. EDIT 1: My bad, I misunderstood. It's one toy with swappable heads. So, you made a thing based on a four member team, and you only want to sell one toy? You're not even trying to get people to "Collect all FOUR!" You do understand how toy sales work, right? Original Comment: This is a perfectly fine idea executed TERRIBLY. You made four unique toys, each specific to each of the Ninja Turtles, that all turn into the same vehicle? It would be one thing if they joined together to form the van. There have been transformer sets like that before. This is just wasted opportunity. Not to mention, that van exists for the turtles to ride in together as a team, so if they can turn into vehicles ... what do they need a van for? I get that that's their van, and that's cute and all, but ... this is just dumb and disappointing. Why not think about what kind of car each of them would drive based on their personalities, or ask some car company if they want to do a tie-in promotional? What do I want with four copies of the same van and no one to ride in any of them? It makes no sense.
