There are a few different opinions on this subject and it's safe to say I've thought about them all, too.

 

We all love the joy of converting a new figure for the first time. And we all love a clean robot mode paint application.

 

While packing in bot mode kinda robs you of that very first conversion, I think it's best for display / sales purposes. If you have the space for it...

 

I like the idea. Especially if the bot looks good. This was done by Takara years ago...

 

As long as Hasbro makes a good Transformer and the bot looks good, I dont mind the packing either way. I dont have the room to keep them all. I usually keep the instructions and a card / box back to file into a binder.
