Transformers 3 Filming Approved for Gary, Indiana; Will Double as Ukraine

So it turns out the timing of this report was coincidence after all. The Post-Tribune, a local newspaper in Gary, Indiana reports that the Board of Public Works and Safety has approved a permit for Transformers 3 production to go ahead in the city. The scene will be "rather simple" and portrays vehicles approaching the industrial property. The city will double as Ukraine in the film. Shooting will take place during the day on April 12th (the same day that was specified as "pre-vis" work in the previous report) at the Majestic Star Casino at Buffington Harbor. The set will be closed to the public.
