A potentially dumb question...

Maybe Megatron ran out of antifreeze.

Maybe when he crashed into the poles the impacked knocked him out causing all the water and ice that would have melted from the heat of said impact refroze pinning him before his system would reboot.

 

To me this is a nonissue, alittle comon sense and knowledge of machines can explain it, I don't need the writers to hold my hand on every little detail.

 

You can't freeze in the vacume of space. The vacume is insulating (somehow?). You need moisture to freeze anywho, and Megs has no water in him (to my knowledge)
