Review: Universe Smokescreen Figure

Recommended Posts

Another repaint? So soon? The mold hasn't even been out for a year, and already it's seeing a 3rd line of duty. Smokescreen is the next tribute to G1 commemorating 25yrs of Transformers in the US. Check out the 2nd redeco of the Nissan 350-esque design by reading the review here.

I got Smokescreen on Sunday. It's a good toy. I found that the yellow on the spoiler was not as offensive as the pictures led me to believe. The face isn't fully painted silver, but after looking at Prowl and Silverstreak I suspect it's deliberate. I think it was Hasbro's intention to make his chin colored blue. The missile launchers should have been painted white, even if the missiles themselves remained gray, but I'll probably paint them myself.

G1 Smokescreen did not have a unique head sculpt.

His animation model WAS totally different, however - and looked horrid compared to the animation models of Prowl and Bluestreak.
