Entertainment Earth has provided us our first look at the alternate modes to the figures included in the third wave of the Marvel Transformers line. We previewed the new figures for you last month, but this is the first time we've seen the vehicle modes for Captain America (HMMWV), Carnage (muscle car), War Machine (fighter jet), and Thor (jet). Take a full look at the image in the full article.

You know... I'm tempted to actually buy a Thor and a Cap - and try to make them into Classics Powerglide (:redface i know i know...) and maybe even Trailbreaker?

Anyone have any of these yet? How is the construction?

Are they as flimsy as the SWTFs?

I have a few, Wave 1 and 2, and they're pretty sturdy. Good materials and joints throughout, mostly. Wolverine's lower arms keep sliding down out of the upper arms, tho, but NBD. Hulk is great, Wolverine is good, Iron man is great, Venom is so-so, lotsa vehikibble. Worth the money tho IMO. HTH

EDIT- holy crap, I just got the link to work. Capt. America as a Hummer is inspired, but the giant shield on the rear hatch has to go. And Thor as A-10 Warthog almost = :win, exc. for the alt mode- what is that, My First Warthog by Playskool? What's w/ all the primary colors? Eek.

*will still buy both, is ashamed*

Thats what the character looks like :shrug

He's a marvel comic book hero - all of them were designed to be printed in four-color mags back in the day.

My son has Iron Man. I played with him once or twice. They seem to have learned a few design lessons from the SWTFs, but the improvements are more quantitative than qualitative IMO.

Looking at them again - I think Thor's jet mode would be 1000% improved if they just did a better job at blending the colors.

Even a Flame/Lightning Deco ala- Movie Prime would get the job done with a less garish final look.

I'm getting Thor, and Cap.

Also, we've seen the alts on these before, I know we did.

1 more thing, Spider-Man again?

:tflaugh

And as a motorcycle again?

I'd kinda like to see Spidy as the Vader of this line.

I would like to see his style slapped on to a few different altmodes and have them keep going until it's no longer :fail -tastic.

I have the first wave of these guys. They're pretty solid figures and I'm happy with them.

I do wish the colors didn't seem so garish on Cap and Thor. They don't have to be that faithful to their original colors. There superhero costume colors don't translate very well into vehicle colors. But I'll still pick them up, unless new, better paint schemes are announced before I get the chance.

War Machine's colors look pretty good, but Spidey....I thought you were supposed to be black?
