This one does not impress me very much. I love Smokescreen but this is not an accurate update and those yellow bits only make me like it less.

 

Sadly, I can not afford Henkei everything, so this will have to do, even with all of it’s ugly yellowness. :tfpuke

Sometimes they just shouldn't try to make it G1. A red rally car with blue and white in robot mode would've looked much better IMO. Of course, then you'd get fans complaining that he wasn't G1.

 

Personally, considering there already is a very good G1 looking Cybertron SMokescreen, I'd much rather would've seen them redeco this mold into a diaclone blue Bluestreak :P

I'm sure I'll end up getting this... it seems i've been picking up all the universe/classics releases, PLUS the henkei versions as well, but what is starting to bug me is the number of repaints... i mean hey sure I know there were a lot of repaints in G1 too, but come on, when you are slowly releasing wave after wave of 3 or 4 at a time, and each wave has 2 or 3 repaints of what was in the last wave... it's just a little frustrating, and comes across as a cheap-ass way of doing things.
