Spotlight Blurr

Agent Zero

Recommended Posts

I just read it, and I have to say I was impressed. I really enjoyed seeing more of the early days of the Cybertronian Civil War.

We get to see Optimus before he becomes Prime, plus we see 'Screamer in his rarely-seen role as Decepticon VP of Recruitment :P

A "new" Prime is also named, Zeta Prime. I'm guessing he's the 'bot who filled in for the period between Sentinel Prime getting PWND in Megatron: Origins and Optimus getting the "Prime" job.

Sort of like the Chester A. Arthur of Autobots :tflaugh

Would you look at that....

Also is it just me or did Blurr have an "I'm Batman" moment at the end?

yah know, all I could think was "I am batman" too.

Yeah I'm not sure why wouldn't just use the existing Cybertronian look for Orion Pax, and why did Kup call him Optimus? Also yeah Bulkhead as a limo was kind of funny, and didn't Blurr look allot like his Animated form? In fact so did Orion.

I'm actually kind of confused concerning Zeta...According to lineage of Primes, as shown in Spotlight: Optimus Prime, Optimus directly followed in the footsteps of Sentinal. He was the next Prime, there was no "filler."

It's possible that this could be right at the end of the Golden Age, since it's referred to as such, because that would place Zeta before Nova. However, that would place most of the characters shown in the comics out of place for the given time.

Zeta definitely comes after Sentinel. Megatron and the 'Cons didn't rise up until Sentinel Prime's reign, so Zeta couldn't have come before Nova. True, he wasn't included in the Spotlight: Optimus Prime illustration, but I think that's just as a case of the Prime Spotlight coming out before the writers had fully flushed out IDW's continuity. Simply put, Zeta was retconned.

If you look at it that way, the story works.

Plus, in All Hail Megatron #6

Kup, looking over a dying Optimus, says Megatron's killed two Primes, and is now facing his third.

We know Sentinel was the first Prime Megatron killed, so that means there must have been an other Prime after Sentinel but before Optimus. Hence Zeta Prime.
